Zelda Megathread

Here can vi talk about Zelda games, upcoming movie and Zelda theory, you can post mem about Zelda, everthing relatet to Zelda are very welcome.

I really want to talk about Ocarina of time and Majora`s mask since it`s my favorite game, I love Majora`s Mask more, since I find Majora`s Mask more challenging and it have creepy and intressing story. I have come to stone tower and I`m going to finish stone tower but right now I have take break from Majora`s Mask and start playing Ocarina of time since it have been awhile since I played Ocarina of time.
I have played Wind Waker on Switch 2 and really enjoying it, I have plans to finish game soon.

That Zelda II is pretty good. Some might even say it's the best one.
I have never played Zelda 2 before, I`m going to give it a try, I need to play it on emulator, which emulator shall I use for to play Zelda 2?

I like Zelda 2 a lot.
But I don't think a lot of people would say its the best one.
It does benefit from save states a lot though.

The first Zelda I ever played was the very first one on NES.
My favorite 3D Zelda is either Twilight Princess or Breath of the Wild. Probably BotW.
My favorite 2D Zelda (and my favorite overall) is A Link to the Past.

NES is very easy to emulate. Any NES emulator should do the trick

Why do you like A Link to the Past? I`m going to download NES emulator.

I think ALttP has good gameplay (not too easy, not too hard) and great dungeon design (except maybe that one part in the ice palace, but thats honestly minor) and a nice semi-open world. At the time, it blew my mind because it was like the first Zelda but everything was "turned up to 11". The narrative is pretty par for the course with Zelda games, but ALttP also STARTED a lot of those trends. The music is also great.

i'm so hate how the new HYRULE Warriros game is on Switch 2. it makes me so mad....
Well that's kind of the idea. Not to make you hate it, but to sell Switch 2's. Hey, do you want to play it? Buy a Switch 2. That's how business works, and they know people who want to play it will buy the system for that and a new first-party I.P. game.

The company who shall not be named makes...

There's already a general Zelda discussion thread :->

Majora's Mask
I mastered bomb jumping and infinite sword glitch yesterday and spent all day index warping with the secret West Clock Town Owl Statue.

I really believe that the Downfall Timeline has been underexploited by Nintendo.

The idea of a world where Ganon has won could've made a great game, especially about people hiding and surviving the demon king's army invading the world.

Yeah, Zelda I and BotW to an extent also did that but not as actively as I wished...

Yet it felt more like a timeline created to insert the remnant of the games that could fit neither the Child nor Adult ones (most of them are the smaller top down entries)...

And in that timeline Ganon got resurrected 4-5 times but each were botched (if not aborted like in Adventure of Link) and it was a mindless beast (like in the Oracle linked games).

I'd like to see a game where they forgot about the Triforce for good and stopped believing in Hylia. Echoes of Wisdom kinda did that but not entirely.

Perhaps it would be too much of a departure from Zelda?

Really? I thought it was overutilized, personally.. The likelihood of the Hero failing would, indeed, be a possibility, but I'd like to give our boy some credit here, as well as the player..

Are y'all fond of Hylian boy, by any chance?

ALTTP and Echoes of Wisdom are the only home console games in that timeline.

Is the Switch not just a handheld with an optional TV output?
it's a hybrid. nintendo has been slowly making its way to this result with their systems. the handhelds have the capabilities of the previous console. the game boy is a portable nes, the gba is a portable snes, and so on. this has cumulated with the switch being a mix of the 3ds, will and wii u. being both portable and can connect to a tv or monitor whenever you want to play on the big screen.

Yes and no.

But you understood what I meant by that.

Every games in that timeline are top down games and the majority are on handhelds. I said it felt like they put the remaining games that they couldn't have fit in neither the Adult nor Children timelines.

I really like the tapestry design of the intro.

And the music when it says that the hero didn't come back.

I think a lot of people really never credits Zelda 2 in how future games would have a gameplay format more similar to Zelda 2 either in exploration or in combat itself.
