The PS2 Medal of Honor titles. My cousin used to rent a bunch of them and we'd play them for hours.

Yes. Though I have not touched a game since 1998.

sat on my dad's lap when i could finally understand how to use a controller with him showing me how to shoot the Covenant in Halo: Combat Evolved, lol, probably around 2003ish. I remember always being terrified of the Hunters and the Flood. Halo 2 came out the next year and he did the same thing, we played together, and pretty soon I wasn't scared of them anymore!

a bit of a side tangent, but I also distinctly remember him taking me and 2 of my best buddies to an EB Games store to wait outside for the midnight release of Halo 3. by that time I would have been around 9 and I was playing Halo, writing Halo fanfiction (lol, yes, really), collecting Halo figurines - the series became my life :)

Neither my dad or I play shooters much anymore, but the series and those memories will always hold a very special place in my heart, and I hope his too :)

I am less fan of Global Offensive and I'm not interested in 2...

Wolfenstine 3D but it was Duke 3D that got me hooked on FPS game back then. Yeah I played Doom 1 and 2 but honestly I never been big fan of them. Yes what a crim not loving doom.

Well let me tell you a bigger crime I think Half-life 1 and 2 is overrated as hell and honestly I like Opposing Force and Blue shift more yes they are also half-life but they are more fun and more interesting story wise.

Yes half-life has big importance in advancement of FPS but replaying it today it bores me and I just hate it I rather replay Blue shift.

I think it was Medal of Honor Frontline for the GameCube. Man, I haven't thought about that game for a long time.

Watching my dad play Medal of Honor Underground and RE Survivor, Only really got into FPS when I got my hands on Allied Assault and Doom 3.

Sypon Filter is a 3rd perosn shooter. I know you can go into first person with specific weapons/sections or scripted moments, but the game clearly wants you run and gun in 3rd person.

This was my first PC game and my first FPS. People complain about the controls, but i beat this game when i was 6-7. This game is awesome.

I forgot descent existed till I saw your comment.

I had a demo of it and I recall that the music was awesome, and I don't recall the controls being that bad, probably because many pc games at the time had awkward keyboard controls.

No Doubt it was DOOM. I played it on the PC and SNES. I was gonna say Medal of Honor Underground but that came way later when I didn't understand the term FPS until Halo came around.

Man that's a tough one.
It's been longer than I'd like to admit, I've gotten into games at a stupidly young age.

Problem is I was like hyperfocused on racing games and that sorta deal, FPS didn't really come until later.
Earliest memories I have are Unreal Tournement and Serious Sam.
