Why should we not strive to get the best experience possible? If that is not realistic why not strive for second best? Very cute of you to drive me to the extreme conclusion of never having something translated if it is not perfect, why yes I do in fact agree with Lumina Tales and their delaying of Tales of destiny 2 for 3 years to make sure it is perfect.

I did not say you should lose access to ai tools. In fact I asked what is stopping you from using them yourself locally and but of course you chose to not answer because that is too reasonable a solution, you instead demand everyone should bend to your will and should not be allowed to enjoy peace of mind. What authority are you trying to infer from my financial support of good translators? Had I not be doing so would that somehow have validated your belief that anyone that seeks quality is stuck up and can't get on with the times forced to consume slop?

It's probably already been said here, but considering the amount of projects that have taken literal decades of stalling, I'm afraid that for the AI-bashers this is going to result in a boom for the scene.

I do hope we won't have a trend of slap-dash scripts with no proper revision. At the very least a revision for accuracy and fluency's sake would prevent it from being "slop". Genuine translators are few and far between, and unfortunately a lot of fan-translated games are mired with fanwank dialogue that isn't true to the actual script. If you've played any MegaTen game coming from Ghideon Zi, I'm sad to say that you haven't experienced the actual japanese script adapted to english.

Between waiting decades for a fan-translation that might be a genuine translation, or an AI-assisted project that takes a fraction of the time and can be perfectly decent with human intervention; the choice isn't really hard to make.
