Is he even still alive? The real issue with Kega Fusion is being closed source, else support would have kept it up to date. I've no idea why Steve Snake just doesn't open the source at this point.
It has some latency issues in some situations and it doesn't have good support for more esoteric games because of custom mappers and the like.I'll echo the people who say it's easy to use and seems to do all the stuff I need? I wasn't aware there was an issue with it.
In the past, i had another reason too, you can run Kega Fusion on very old systems too, and also has very little cpu usage! Why do people still use Kega Fusion for emulating Sega Genesis games?
There are better Sega Genesis emulators out there
While the idea of AiO emulators is great from a design standpoint, I still have subfolders with copies of Kega Fusion for each system it emulates because I'm weird LOL (I use a Company > Console > Game hierarchy).I like it because it's thew only emulator that can emulate Sega SG-1000, SC-3000, SF-7000, Master System, Game Gear, Genesis/Mega Drive, SVP, Pico, Sega/Mega CD and 32X all in one package.
NGL, I have all my games for this emulator all in one folder and if I get a newer one that doesn't emulate all of these different consoles/computers I'll have to sift through all the games and put them in different folders and that's just going to be a big pain in the ass.
Normally I don't really like AiO emulators because I like to feel like each emulator is it's own console. But I figured since a Sega Genesis/Mega Drive can play most of those with the right add-ons anyway I gave it a shot. Plus, at the time I started emulating it was one of the better options. While the idea of AiO emulators is great from a design standpoint, I still have subfolders with copies of Kega Fusion for each system it emulates because I'm weird LOL (I use a Company > Console > Game hierarchy).
Yeah... Retroarch is... a thing. It's hard to fathom but it has such good usability when used in a self contained environment like a retro portable, and at the same time and by equal measure it is a terrible mess to use on PC.The other is retroarch, with it's genesis plus gx and picodrive cores, which to fair does function well, it is a convoluted mess of a emulator with how it handles settings and controls on pc for me that i personally avoid it like the plague when i can for any system, not just genesis/sega cd.
I guess it's worthy of its name.Theoretically you could run nukedMD but good luck unless you have a really powerful pc or a fpga.

So I can't recall when I heard this, I believe it was a DF retro episode that did the Evercade Handheld, but he is alive as last I'm aware and actually was paid to update it for that platform... or and this is more than possible, I'm insane and its actually a different platform he was paid to use it for and I'm actually confusing Blast-Em and their developer being paid to make a lower-end version for the Evercade hardware. No idea, to be honest. I believe the last update to KF was 2010.
Why are we now talking about zsnes?ZSNES is good on my touchscreen cuz you can wipe the screen clean w/o shuttin the O/S down =D holds a lot of nostalgia for me too, I believe prior to the existence of SNES9x. I use the aforementioned Ares though now for Nintendo consoles/portables prior to Gamecube/DS
Edit: sans Game & Watch, N64DD, or Virtual Boy. other multi-emus or Retroarch shenanigans for those
Nah, zsnes has legitimate functional successors that are better than it, wheras fusion's competition all have some problem that makes fusion still viable, zsnes now is not worth using unless you like the ui (which to be fair, is nice, loved the snow screen effect).Because ZSNES and Kega somewhat exist in a similar situation, I guess.
kinda like the UI similarities between Duckstation n PCSX2 (nightly)? or like Cemu n Yuzu? I'd almost say PPSSPP n Xemu but Xemu is practically barebones while PPSSPP is stacked with amazing n thoughtful customization of all kinds...As an emulator enjoyer emulators that share a similar UI are less jarring when I stop playing one and move to another to get setup and playing. The less jarring to me it is and faster I can get it playing the easier and better. I use fusion also.
