That's true. Blast 'Em could be it (it covers the accuracy angle) but the interface is terrible and I don't remember if shader support is any good.Nah, zsnes has legitimate functional successors that are better than it, wheras fusion's competition all have some problem that makes fusion still viable, zsnes now is not worth using unless you like the ui (which to be fair, is nice, loved the snow screen effect).
You should give mesen a shot if you haven't, while it's not got a genesis core yet, it's effectively a classical style ui similar to fusion and the like.As an emulator enjoyer emulators that share a similar UI are less jarring when I stop playing one and move to another to get setup and playing. The less jarring to me it is and faster I can get it playing the easier and better. I use fusion also.
it also lacks sega cd support, i can live without 32x support but some amazing games showed up on the sega cd.That's true. Blast 'Em could be it (it covers the accuracy angle) but the interface is terrible and I don't remember if shader support is any good.
I have mesen as well on my desktop. I like it. I may have recently gotten rid of it though. I consolidated a lot of my emus and roms onto my 2ds xl when I realized I could hack it only using the SD card. You should give mesen a shot if you haven't, while it's not got a genesis core yet, it's effectively a classical style ui similar to fusion and the like.

xemu is still pretty new; and most of the games on the xbox have a pc port. i don't think there's that many exclusives to the system. lack of interest and/or low levels of attention help contribute to a slow development process.kinda like the UI similarities between Duckstation n PCSX2 (nightly)? or like Cemu n Yuzu? I'd almost say PPSSPP n Xemu but Xemu is practically barebones while PPSSPP is stacked with amazing n thoughtful customization of all kinds...
There's plenty of exclusives to consoles on the system and a fair amount of exclusives, it's just that most of them are just either niche or forgotten.xemu is still pretty new; and most of the games on the xbox have a pc port. i don't think there's that many exclusives to the system. lack of interest and/or low levels of attention help contribute to a slow development process.
the psp program, ppsspp: ton of love for the psp, tons of support for the emulator.
yeah, i read that if anything is trying to run an emulator it is essentially software trying to mimic hardware. the system or pc in question needs to be at least 10 times stronger than what its copying. since the program is basically a duplicate of its self, it's not surprising that little progress has been made. if i thought it was possible, i'd say just extract the games from the iso and make some kind of universal launcher that runs the games like a pc game. There's plenty of exclusives to consoles on the system and a fair amount of exclusives, it's just that most of them are just either niche or forgotten.
I believe it was the dev of qemu who explained in the past why development is slow, xbox was essentially a pc, with all the drawbacks of trying to emulate a x86 system, this is also why xenia is slow in emulation, x86 is difficult to emulate because your trying to run the same cpu architecture in software, which sounds easy but it's anything but because you need to essentially run a full pc in virtualization plus other stuff.
Another way to put it, imagine trying to run a mp3 player, in a mp3 player, inside that mp3 player as fully functional.

just call it the xbox. it's a nice and simple name.Regarding XBox, XBOG or whatever you want to call them (thanks to Microsoft assinine naming scheme I can't retroactively number things so it stays nice and tidy) I can only think of two games that interest me: Panzer Dragoon Orta and Steel Battalion, though given the latter required a very special and expensive controller, it may be impossible to play properly even if emulation were perfect.

my xbox library is limited to a handful of games. i borrow the system and three games from a friend who probably had 50 games for it. i found one at a thrift store with kotor 1 and 2. i only needed fable 1 and i had all of the games that i wanted for it. i also got dead or alive extreme, sudeki and red ninja: end of honor. th ebox art prettymuch explains why i got those.I'm gonna have to go ahead n disagree there - that first wave of Sega exclusives on Xbox OG - most of them never got a port anywhere n still haven't. that's good to hear though that a lot of important Xbox titles are available on PC or perhaps elsewhere but I even took a pic on my profile holding the boxes n physical copies of those Sega games that were left on Xbox OG to this very day.
For the three modern systems, they are running effectively on off the shelf parts, but the xbox and 360 were using a custom x86 chip which was the reason it's such a pain, there's been like 20 different xbox emulators but only 2 are currently in development at a playable level because of this, qemu being the most complete.yeah, i read that if anything is trying to run an emulator it is essentially software trying to mimic hardware. the system or pc in question needs to be at least 10 times stronger than what its copying. since the program is basically a duplicate of its self, it's not surprising that little progress has been made. if i thought it was possible, i'd say just extract the games from the iso and make some kind of universal launcher that runs the games like a pc game.
i'm not too familiar with the xbox library. i mainly played fable, kotor, and a couple of random games i found at a thrift store on my xbox. i found out there was a galaxy angel game for it but its Japanese only.
Adding to the 2 above, there are a few games i can think of off the top of my head you might want to consider.Regarding XBox, XBOG or whatever you want to call them (thanks to Microsoft assinine naming scheme I can't retroactively number things so it stays nice and tidy) I can only think of two games that interest me: Panzer Dragoon Orta and Steel Battalion, though given the latter required a very special and expensive controller, it may be impossible to play properly even if emulation were perfect.
Thank you, I think I saw Otogi in passing while watching video reviews before. I had no idea about Phantom Dust or Project Gotham in any greater detail (I only knew PGR more or less influenced the creation of Forza).Got a few more good ones in my post below you might like to know about for your own bookeeping.

Otogi 1 and 2, which are action games made in a similar style to devil may cry and is made by from software of all companies, both are exclusive to the xbox.
There's also the only futurama game ever made, which ironically is a great game i hear.
There's a action rpg by the name of phantom dust that was exclusive to the system, hear that one is good as well.
There's the project gotham racing games, which have their best versions on the xbox, as well as i believe the best version of a specific outrun game.
you're welcome. i can generally notice when i'm in an area where i don't know much the subject in question. so collecting as much info as possible is the best COA.yea like facing 2 mirrors or TV screens within screens - well, not really lol but that's the 1st things that came to mind as equivalents (maybe similar from metaphysical perspective) - but a computer running within a computer must be a nightmare to insert user-friendly intuitive mechanics n provide a smooth, low-maintenance experience. also on my post I amended it with an apology that I did not see that Leon beat me to pointing out original Xbox's 2 or 3 small handfuls of exclusives.
thank you for your friendliness, tact, n open-mindedness here - appreciated. usually a much more enjoyable thing if we all are here to learn n share n be supportive in our niches. this forum so far is nigh-outstanding in this productive, inviting, comforting environment - as we all have been under euphoric n amazing spells from some of these brilliant digital escapes n love to varying degrees this veritable, long-running art form. apologies for goin off-topic to praise the badassery of this community lol ^_^

i only intended to have 3, possibly 4 games for the xbox. fable 1 [lost chapters] kotor 1 and 2. that's all of the games that my friend had that were interesting to me. if you want, i can find the box art for the three other games i ended up getting so you can see why i picked them up.
i think the tv screen analogy is the best one. i hae another post where i suggested a possible work around. using the newer xboxes to play the earlier games. they might be able to support them or be worked on to do so at some point in the future. i posted in another thread that consoles are more specifically designed pcs with somewhat stronger hardware than your standard computer or even the computers that made the games.
nice to meet you too. i played fable 3 and beat it and my 360 died before i could beat fable 2, but i didn't get very far into it. hopefully they go back to the style of the first game. the gold trail of pixie dust made me ignore the environment in fable3. i just focused on it and headed form objective to objective. i didn't know i was going up a mountain at one point, i just kept running and noticed that i couldn't follow the path anymore and i actually had to navigate the environment.I love the Fable franchise n the Knights of the Old Republic games too. I'm big into RPGs at times but as a jack-of-all-trades master-of-F'-aLL I tend to spread myself too thin in attempts to venture n broaden horizons to such a vast extent that - when my faculties are compromised, attempting to be over-ambitious can make meh head spin xD even though I basically ate n drank the gaming scenes n even archaic computer gaming since about '84 - pickin up not only tons of comic books, but then videogame n computer gaming 'zines in addition...
I never paid attention to things like awareness of commercial marketing shenanigans n the business-related side of things but I absorbed a lot more info than I even realized through nearly the entire history of both arcade n home-based gaming.... and with my mind seemingly wanting to run faster n faster as I get older - I suddenly am not as outta-my-depth now that I'm clearly recalling almost every semi-memorable instance in my life and my cognitive reasoning struggles I've always had are like open doors to me now...
sorry, I'm borderline rambling. concise n prnzo are rarely in the same sentence xD restraint is more a challenge to me than ever !!-_-!! it is what it is(n't) lol tbh I gotta cut this short n do something to regain focus ughh =/ but I'll try to be back in a bit with a clearer head. nice to meet you in any case! nice to meet a lot of others here too but I can't get to everyone at once ^_^ even though I do have the proclivity towards attempting everything in one simultaneous go xD oh weLL. =P
Is that why the PPC Xbox 360 I think used some sort of translation layer for XBOX GO Emu rather than emu itself. I think that layer was inversed in terms of development for the 360 emu upwards which is why improvements could be so easily made? There's plenty of exclusives to consoles on the system and a fair amount of exclusives, it's just that most of them are just either niche or forgotten.

Not a expert on that sorry, but i can say this much, official emulators will always be more efficient as the company has access to the blueprints and programming code of the original system, fan made emulators have to reverse engineer it, which will always add in inefficiencies. Is that why the PPC Xbox 360 I think used some sort of translation layer for XBOX GO Emu rather than emu itself. I could be wrong.

When it comes to accuracy Ares comes close. Don't forget PicoDrive. If all else libretro cores.there's other emulators better?
I USUALLY use Gens, and if any noticable issues, i use Kega fusion.
but yeah i have kega for all the other consoles as everyone said.
it just works for me.
