What's the story behind your username?

[Ian Naxieas]

Surprising nobody it's the name of my main character (or fursona if you will). To go a little more in-depth, Ian is a name I always liked. It became a favorite in high school, when a friend name Ian was made and lent me many amazing music CDs. I may have developed a bit of a crush on him. When it came time to choose a name for my character, Ian just felt right. I wouldn't say I named it after my high school friend, but he did make me appreciate it more. It's kinda like my mom and my real name. It has a few different ways you can spell it, but she went with the way a famous singer/songwriter spells it. She's not really even a fan of him, so she didn't name me after him, just took the way the name was spelled.

Naxieas is super nerdy. I was an edgy teen at the time and was into Final Fantasy X, so I started throwing words into an Al Bhed translator until I found something I liked. So thus Naxieas is Al Bhed for requiem. I just started using Ian Naxieas everywhere as a username because it's guaranteed to not be taken. x)

I love naming my RPG characters with strange, high-fantasy-esque names, prioritizing consonants with alternative pronunciations: Kirgamanderra, Itanakhim, Gromr, Fnatjr, Mongraem, whatever, whatever.

I think Ajderniz (which you ought to pronounce as 'eye-derniz' for some reason) showed up once when I named my main character in Dragon Quest 3. It sounded unique, so I started using in more and more games. Now it has meaning and, since it's a seemingly random yet arguably short assortment of letters, (only 8!), I never have issues with picking usernames on new sites.
It is supposed to be primarily a female name, by the way.

DragonMals actually stems from my original alias: MaliDragon2006.

Mali is short for my first name Malachi, and thr dragon came from my obsession with Freedom Planet back when the game released, with the 06 being the year I was born. The reason Ive changed it to DragonMals was because the Mals stemmed from my brother nicknaming me it when me and him are having fun with each other and it still occurs to this very day even if we're both adults.

I’ve been using this username for the past 5 years or so now, I found it very funny when putting my name as Nobody in games, felt like I was messing with the dialogue. Now I just vibe with it, also I like how it looks/sounds.

My username came as a whim while registering to the forum: I never use complex nicknames or with special references but, being a video game forum, I just made an exception as an homage to one of my favorite JRPG, Baten Kaitos.

Awww, thank you! The best part about Naxieas is getting people to pronounce it. I used to subscribe to Twitch streamers during a stream just to see how they'd handle it. Most everyone stumbled or fucked it up, except for Maximilian Dood, who got it right on the first try while in the middle of a fighting game match (I think it was Mortal Kombat XL, but it might have been Killer Instinct or Street Fighter: 3rd Strike). Props to him!

Haha, it's not technically an English word so you're all good. Also you seem to have a really good grasp on English from what I've seen! Speaking more than one language is hard, which is why most dumbo Americans like myself don't do so. x) I feel it's really impressive to be bi/multilingual, especially with English as a second language because of how batshit and stupid it can be. But anyway, you nailed the pronunciation! Though technically we both are wrong, according to the Al Bhed translator. It's "Nahxeeeayah-see", which just does not sound great so I'm sticking with how you said it. x) I don't think anyone actually speaks Al Bhed so nobody will ever know. :>

Okay, here goes.

I used to pick fights with other kids since elementary school (bullies mind you, I have a friend who is disabled since birth and they like to tease him), eventually I became known as the guy who likes to fight other students. One day when I was in 2nd grade during recess, I was chasing these 2 kids at the school yard, there were stack of benches in one side of the corner and we all climbed it up. They managed to get off safely, I on the other hand slipped and fell, from the top of the benches, around 8 feet tall....

Face first, to a giant rock nearby.
Everything went black after that.

I didn't know how long I was out, when I got up there is a huge puddle of blood right in front of me, I didn't feel any pain but I did feel a sharp sting in my forehead. First thing I do? "Oh right it's recess, I gotta eat lunch!". I still remember to this day, the short walk from the yard to the class felt like eternity, there were kids who looked in horror, some of the girls crying, oh and the 2 kids I was chasing? They were nowhere to be found, I just walked until I eventually reach my seat in class, took my lunch box and eat PBJ sandwich mom prepared.

Shortly after, a teacher arrived and yanked my arm, "we have to go, now!" she said, "but I'm in the middle of the lunch." I said, "no, leave it, come with me." she said, well okay I do what she asked. Teach brought me to the bathroom to clean me up and there it is, I see myself in the mirror, my face is completely red covered in blood, and my used-to-be-white shirt is now all brown, oh and there is huge hole in my forehead too, awesome. Not long after we rushed to the hospital, and I got 12 stitches in my noggin, still have the scar to this day.

The school apparently called mom and we just went straight home. Next day, everyone in class thought I was dead, the 2 kids I chased the day before looks relieved they didn't have to go the juvvie for murdering another kid, and next thing I know some people starts calling me Red, 'cause I looked like Rambo.

There you go, when I said it's 'bloody' I meant it literally hahaha.

John is the english version of my name, and Adams sounds cool for last name, I didn't know that was the name of the 2nd president of United States, when I was playing Left 4 Dead 2, one of the players told me this fact and I was really suprised for the coincidence.
Anyway, I usually use this name in multiplayers or RPGs, in some ocassion I only use "John"

I saw it in the banner of a forum back in 2005. It seemed really neat, and I haven't seen that username anywhere since.

I used to go by Ivory Soul for years and used Binary Messiah only for my gaming website. I switched over permanently a couple of years ago. Ivory Soul has a cringey backstory. When I was 12/13, I wanted to be the next white rapper like Eminem. I wrote cringey rap lyrics in Notepad on my mom's Windows 98 PC (we had Windows 98 up to 2004, by the way). Ivory was for me being white, and Soul just sounded "deep.". As time went on, people confused it with Ivy Soul from Soul Calibur, so I stuck with that story instead of the cringe origins.
