What's the story behind your username?

Just like the character I'm based on, I too was prevented from getting to be a part of reality, kept from gaining any kind of 'potential'.

That, and we already have practically the same personality...

My username is a deviation from my instagram username which uses "Tay" instead of "Way". I first started using "2Chill" online after a friend in college was trying to make an instagram account for me and was trying to decide on a name before we settled on "Tay2Chill" due to my general calm and relaxed demeanor.

My username is short for "Tauburn Valkyrie". Tauburn is the name of the main mecha from Star Driver and Valkyrie because Odin Sphere has done irreparable damage to my brain lmao.

I normally go by a different username, KachiKirby, but I wanted to go with something different this time. Though I am honestly stuck between just waiting to change my username to KachiKirby or if I should stick with Taukyrie because I really like both.

The sign is a subtle joke. The shop is called "Sneed's Feed & Seed", where "feed" and "seed" both end in the sound "-eed", thus rhyming with the name of the owner, Sneed. The sign says that the shop was "Formerly Chuck's", implying that the two words beginning with "F" and "S" would have ended with "-uck", rhyming with "Chuck". So, when Chuck owned the shop, it would have been called "Chuck's Feeduck and Seeduck".

Mine was given to me by a friend, after yet another round of back-and-forth, lighthearted trolling. She kinda just threw it in there and then convinced everyone to call me that, so I just adopted it and rolled with it.

A bit later I realized that I could score mad points with it on Scrabble, and that sorta sealed the deal XD

I've had many iterations of user names, some random, some playing on my name, but my current one:

Me and a friend went to the gym together, his name is Will, my name is Karl.

And on a whim I called him Wilcules (A play on Hercules) and he called me Karlak The Barbarian (Conan The Barbarian) after some time I added King to the front of Karlak for a little more elegance. So King Karlak it is.

My name most other places is some variation of "Ad Noctem". Ad Noctem Media, Ad Noctem Gaming, just AdNoctem, etc.

I came up with it when I was first diagnosed with and having a really bad flare of my narcolepsy, hypersomnia, and delayed sleep phase syndrome. It was so bad I lost my job at the time. I could sleep 14-15 hours a day. And during the winter, with short days, I could go a week or more without ever being awake to see the sunlight (sounds crazy but when you're waking up at 5 PM and going to bed shortly before dawn it happens). I was super depressed, feeling helpless and lost. I decided that if I were losing my career and losing so many hours of my life to uncontrollable sleeping, I could at least do something fun with the time I did have and start a gaming channel like I'd thought about doing since I was a teen. Ad Noctem (Into Night, roughly) was a way of taking ownership of the hours I did have for something that brought me joy despite the circumstances.

NoctemDead is just because I was feeling silly and it's one of the little puns we make about my name sometimes. Noctem (Knocked 'Em) Down, Noctem Dead, etc.
