What tropes do you dislike the most?

A trope that comes in many forms ‘Inside a computer’, ‘Brain uploaded’, ‘Your Mind Makes It Real’, essentially person stuck in/ plot takes place in virtual world. In my mind at least it’s just ‘it was all a dream’ with a chrome coat.

Especially irritating when it’s the big plot twisty, instantly takes me out of it, and spoils everything established. Makes everything feel a bit meaningless no matter what - since now there’s a that big ‘it’s a program’ sign with all its implications hanging over it now.
The Matrix?

Anime: Has an interesting battle system with unique powers

(Before getting flooded, Jotaro is still good since he come from a time where that trope wasn't as common as salt)

The god awful 2nd act break up can be done well but most of the time it’s just annoying, like trust me we know the hero’s will reunite to defeat big baddie but man it’s annoying

I feel that making a main character too specific would be harder for plot than making them versatile.

Also Jotaro has a straightforward stand because Jotaro is a straightforward person. Joseph has always been more of a trickster thus his stand being not that powerful yet is a Swiss knife.

Even Goku, strategically speaking, is a pretty basic power-character when you had many different techniques but DB has always been about power increasing (like many shonens of its kind).

It's why I always loved side characters with a very special gimmick/technique (like Ten Shin Han having his sun flare or even Kakyoin with his long distance stand).

Miscommunication. I feel this is more common in anime for some reason, but if the main conflict of your plot comes from characters who just didn't trade information like normal human beings, I roll my eyes to oblivion.
So many tv shows based on that too. The show Lost could've probably been one season if the characters all sat down and opened up about what each person knew.
That and the entire series of "Three's Company"!
