What Retro Game Consoles Do You Own or Wish to Eventually Own?

  1. The original PS1 and the new PSone i got from a pawn shop later on.
  2. PS2 slim i got in exchange for my older model.
  3. First generation PSP

That's about it. I still play them from time to time, especially the PSP and PSone

After emulating it for well over a decade, I've come to the sound conclusion that I really want an NES. Specially a Top-Loader, that was the first one I played. Though I would like it to have Composite modded. Having an Everdrive Cart for it would be nice as well

Got me a few consoles myself I do yes.
Super Famicom, PS1 & 2 & 3, Nintendo 64, and a Dreamcast. DSi XL, 3DSXL, and a Vita covers the handheld section. I try not to spend too much, they are games consoles after all.
The N64 & DC is getting a lot of attention from me recently, gotta be my favs outta the lot.

I wanna have an N64, Dreamcast, a Gamecube/Wii, and a GBA. While I own a DSI XL, and idk if the PS3 Super Slim counts as a retro console

Oh god, over 3 decades old now and I have gone through a lot.

Used to Own;
NES, SNES, N64, GameCube, Wii, Wii U, DS, Genesis, Dreamcast, Atari XE, Neo Geo Pocket Color, PS1, PS2, PSP, Vita, Xbox, Xbox 360

Still Own;
Analogue SNES, Analogue Genesis, PC Engine Duo R (modded for Component but has been collecting dust for years and sold all of my games for it), PS3, Gameboy Color (one I built myself using a kit and is fpga based), Saturn (disc won't spin in it collecting dust with the off chance one day I get a terraonion or something for it), GBA (modded backlit screen and rechargeable battery), 3DS LL (collecting dust in a desk drawer that I never got around to finish jailbreaking and installing homebrew on it)

What I wish I owned;
Besides the obvious I wish I had a PSP, PS2, and Vita again what I really want is an Amiga 1200 and an Atari Falcon.

After buying (and later selling) several retro systems, the only ones I've decided to keep are the 3DS (for DS/3DS), the Vita (for PSP/Vita), and the Wonderswan (because I like it). Consoles are fun, but take up too much space and are too fragile (and too much hassle to set up), plus they eventually lose to emulation. Some are still worth owning of course, but personally I'm kind of done with that part of retro collecting. I would like to maybe own a Gameboy Micro or a DSi XL someday, but eh...

Alright....
Nintendo - NES, SNES, Wii, Switch
Sega - Genesis, Sega CD, Saturn, Dreamcast
SNK - Neo Geo AES, Neo Geo Pocket
Microsoft - XBox, 360, XBoxS
Sony - PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4, PS5, PSP
They're all the same systems I bought at their launches.
"Hey can I have your stuff when you die mang?" Shut up.

For me i wish i could get my hands on a turbo CD/pc engine CD, as well as a neo geo and neo geo cd, but more for collectors purposes.

Dude, killer collection man
Thanks, I've been at it for a long time.
still would like a PC Engine
Allow me to be the voice of reason: Unless you're fluent in Japanese, you're going to miss out on most of the good games on the console. Maybe save your money and just emulate.

respectfully, I disagree.
My Japanese is like bellow Kindergarten level and I'm still able to figure out most games. The RPGs in this era are fairly simple, so even those are surmountable with a little bit of effort.

Most retro console I own is a 3ds lol
I prefer to emulate retro games

Also the CD part is region free which is why I got a PC Engine Duo since it was way cheaper than buying a Turbo Duo to play Ys

Neat to know. Im unfamiliar with the Duo system as I never got to get one. If I do go on trip to Japan, and during which, im searching for a complete copy of Dracula X, then I'd buy a Duo.

I got a grey Saturn a few months ago and I adore the way it looks on my desk. Sure it can’t read games but I’ve got other ways to play them. I would hug it if I could. Maybe I should…

Have fun playing 天外魔境2 and not being able to read anything or understand anything that's being said in the animated segments. Really defeats the purpose of an RPG.

I got one last year with that same issue and just swapped out the disc drive with a Fenrir ODE. Little guy works like a champ now.

They have the Fenrir Lite now that costs half the price as the old Fenrir Duo that I picked up a year ago. It's a simple no-solder swap that only takes a few minutes.

Some day...

I'd like an MSX someday, but it's never going to happen. Too expensive. Too old. Too hard to operate.

Some of them look so cool though.

If it's due to the laser disc, there is this thing I saw a while back called Satiator where it's plugged into the back of the Saturn, connecting to the FRAM. It plays off of an SD Card iirc. It's pricey though, costing at $199.

Fenrir is half the price and works just as well. If the laser is already dead no use in keeping it. You just unplug it and put the Fenrir in it's place. It's very easy, anyone could do it. It's the ODE I use on my Saturn.
