I didn't know about Prime since I assumed that because it was a different director Miyamoto had nothing to say (unless you meant Nintendo in general).
Online multiplayer could've always been a thing for a potential remaster (like GX) but we don't really need gimmicks, Mario Kart is already perfect for experimenting (especially since Double Dash and the character swapping mechanic or Wii with the bikes).
F-zero GX was merely an improvement on X' formula and it was still great. The only additions would be more solo content and that's it.
I wish they could let more freedom when a third party handles a sequel as well.
G&W was basically Wario Ware Wii U without the name and I think WW games are all tech demos if you think about it (between Twisted with the gyro controls, Touched with the stylus, Smooth Moves with the wiimote motion controls, Snapped with the DSi camera and so on).
Since Zelda as a franchise has always been about freedom and exploration it would be nice if they could expand Echoes with the next top down Zelda game if Link is going back as the playable protagonist.
miyamoto more or less did the meme:
>enters room
>says something cryptic and vague
>refuses to elaborate
>leaves
to be more serious, he was just visiting and seeing how things were going. that was his only contribution to the game, otherwise, they were free to develop metroid prime as they saw fit.
online and local multiplayer is always perfect for a racing game, but nearly a quarter of a century goes by without anything being said or mentioning the series, and then that's all that they can come up with. every mario kart since 64 have been experimental
f-zero gx was a gamecube game, and was second to last. i played a bit of it. seemed very hard, but it would probably be fun to play once you get used to it. everyone probably remembers it more than the gba installment that came out just a little while later.
it seems to be dependent on what series is being handled by a third party that determines if they can get full reign or not on what they can do. hyrule warriors is a good example, specifically with cia, a very well liked character. you would never see a character like that in a mario game.
there's nothing wrong with showing off some new tech, even to the point of letting the public try it out, but the end goal should be to get feedback and make improvements for a much larger project. totk also feels like a tech demo, but more pointless since they have no plans to ever return to the wilds era. at least with wario, they made it an in universe thing that he's making some games for a quick buck.
if they do continue the echoes story and setting, i hope that link and zelda travel together. it'd be interesting to see them battling the forces of evil together.
