We could go into the obvious, F-zero, Wario Land, etc., but I'm far more interested in the more obscure titles that didn't take off but deserve another chance; like Chibi Robo, Punch-Out, Diddy Kong Racing, or Drill Dozer. I find it really odd that their experimental Switch releases have pretty much all been severely lacking when they have IPs that are better thought out, have solid characters and gameplay loops that no one is bothering to explore.

Also most of all I desperately want a new Kirby Air Rider

Some of their Virtual Boy stuff looked really interesting, and I think that those games could benefit enormously from an, uh, "un-redening".

Startropics also deserved better.

Too many to count really, could go on and on like...for example

Also, Nintendo is like that one guy that have so many ideas and (almost) only release one great game, for one franchise, for one system, then vanished (except for big franchises).

Even though I would love to see the game listed here make a comeback, it's hard for Nintendo to focus on other games since bigger names like Mario, Legend of Zelda and Metroid exist. I think it's a good thing for Nintendo to bring new innovations for the big titles, but I would also love to see these either overlooked or almost forgotten games to shine and reach their full potential rather than just being another experimental projects

You can now play them on 3DS in 3D, and pick whatever color you like

I am glad I found the Japan exclusive DS Chibi-Robo game last year. Doesn't have as much content as the original, but it at least preserves the spirit of the game, where the DS game the rest of the world got was severely lacking in actual content, and the 3DS side scroller was..... nothing

Yet another game I never would have found without CD-R

Didn't know that.

That's awesome!

Works like a charm. Luckily hacking the 3DS is super easy and quick too

Rusty's Real Deal Baseball came out over a decade ago and I'd love to see them return to it in this new era of F2P/Battle Pass monetization. Really enjoyed the light narrative and gameplay around haggling, and it feels like they could find a new way of doing that kind of storytelling with more contemporary monetization.

Also I feel like a mini game collection with leader boards is more widely appealing now than it seemed like it was in 2013. Very stream-friendly, competitive communities build up around anything these days.

I feel Drill Dozer will always remain a pipe dream for me. It seems GF and others are only going to develop whatever prints money, or have the small possibility of shifting the market.

I know it isn't a "series", but it so deserved to be...
The N64 and Gamecube really had the potential to make this into a classic Nintendo franchise. It's a tragic shame that never happened.

Nonetheless, I still think it has the potential to be revisited and made great.

I'd love another Tetris Attack aka Panel de Pon aka Puzzle League.
The SNES game has the most slappin bass I've ever heard on a SNES cartridge.

People I talk to never remember this game. No idea why, I have many memories of being little and playing it

It was just a little too ambitious for it's time.

It had all the hallmarks of a classic Nintendo game, but I really feel like it failed because of a deficiency of a few FPS.
If it had just been a little smoother then maybe to this day it could have been remembered as a beloved classic.
Possibly...

Maybe not because of the FPS (I don't think it failed as much) but maybe because Nintendo like to focus on the bigger stuff like Mario Kart series, it had potential though

I do recall playing this game as a kid and while I didn't hate it, I ultimately thought that while the 3D effect was cool and reminded me of Star Fox graphics, it felt just as sluggish as Star Fox. But for Star Fox, since that game was an on-rails shooter, the sluggishness didnt have that much of an impact. But for a racing game, the sluggishness was definitely more felt and when compared to the other racers on the system, it just didnt feel good to play. As you said, it was just a little too ambitious.
Was that game running on the SFX or SFX2 chip?

At least we now have a FastROM hack for it. But I'm patiently waiting for Vitor Vilela to be able to come out with some magical Super-FX enhancement similar to what he has done with the SA-1 romhacks.

Amazing Island and Cubivore: Survival of the Fittest. Especially Cubivore. It had a weird charm to it, it was hard to play, but satisfying to beat enemies in it.

this might sound weird, but Mole Mania, what a great game. and Nazo Murasame Jou

i was just playing mole mania the other day. its very fun, and intense. i never beat it as a kid. the end of level cutscenes are the best part.

They technically both got a "modern" release but Kid Icarus and Punch-Out could benefit a lot from getting a newer entry on the next console but sadly I feel that in 202X having characters that represent national cliches (the Spanish guy doing Flamenco or the Canadian being a lumber jack) would probably raise criticism (despite being basically like Street Fighter's and are more about embracing various cultures than mocking them in the Wii game) and Kid Icarus is mostly up to Sakurai but he's too busy with Smash Bros to tackle side projects (even if I would've loved the return of Orcos as a villain as well as seeing newer deities from the pantheon, we could even have Norse gods as antagonists against Palutena and Co).

I would not be against a reboot for Ice Climber nor Urban Champions if it's done well.

Sorry but Stunt Race FX is too sluggish, if I wanted to play a racing game I'd boot up F-zero or even go for Sega's Virtua Racing since it's also with early 90's low poly graphics.
