What makes you say fuck I am Old ?

Whenever my partner reminds me that she is exactly one year younger than me. Or when I'm asked to train some kids like I'm their sensei. Or every time that my back hurts... You know, I could keep at this all day, but I should probably stop.

My knees.

Or more pop-culturally relevant - having to assert to young colleagues that movies from the 70s and 80s are actually in colour and widescreen and you can just watch them like any other movies.
Your co-worker is just dumb, most young adult people i know, have seen movies from the 80s and 70s and know they are in color. Do they think the first Star Wars is from 2007?

I guess my brain is being nostalgic. Because I have been having sudden random memories lately. For instance, I was just thinking of the lunch box I had in first grade. It was a yellow Rainbow Brite lunchbox. I found an image of it.

I also had the Rainbow Brite record player and would play Disney records on it.

In kindergarten I had a Care Bears book bag. It was a very simple design. A beige canvas bag with red trim and a Care Bear (Cheer Bear I think) on the front. It had a buckle closure. I remember it was at my grandmother's house for a long time after I was out of kindergarten. But I don't know what happened to it. She may have given it away.

The closest I could find is this. There must have been several designs with different Care Bears on them.

All this cool retro stuff was new to me because I was there when it came out. I even have a pic of myself on my fifth birthday with a Rainbow Brite doll and a really old fashioned red gingham dress. 😓

Well, shit.... Some of the highlights include.:
Seeing shows that are considered classics, watching them when they were new episodes.
Remembering Pong was my first introduction to a video game.
Seeing when Pacman, Donkey Kong, Pole Position, etc... WERE NEW.
Saw Tron when it was a new movie.
Experiencing the video game crash of the 80s.
Seeing the beginnings of the NES, Master System, TG-16, Genesis, SNES.
Seeing Street Fighter II make arcades popular again.

I could keep going, but it gets depressing for me.
