What makes you say fuck I am Old ?

Everything you remember happened 10+ years ago.
I just saw a youtube video posted "5 years ago" and thought to myself "oh man, 2015, what a year".
I feel like the clock is ticking faster every year.

the stupid gibberish that kids say these days
Yup, this was the start for me.
When I started to not understand modern humor, these dang hipsters.

I still don't know what a poggers is and I'm sure it's some kind of cereal brand.

I have some 20-something year old friends and it's not uncommon for me to end stuff with, "...If you remember what that is." (Spoiler, they usually don't ::hush)

That was when I finally accepted yeah, I'm old news haha.

Hey, as a proud person from NES and MegaDrive era... i don't feel old at all! ๐ŸŒŸ

(This is me right now: ๐Ÿ‘ถ)
*suddenly opening this thread*
PSX was my first console and my childhood console
PSX is awesome! (How i feel now: ๐Ÿง‘)
Hearing people call the Ps2 a Retro Console make me feel very old.
Quite understandable... (Me right now: ๐Ÿ‘จ)
The moment when i play an classic xbox game , look at the title screen , look at the year under its title and feel ancient ....
Ah... i see... *cough*...*cough*... (My feel: ๐Ÿ‘ด)
Kids buying "old PSPs" because they want a cool "retro" handheld to play with and disconnect from the internet xD
Clippy...?... you once... mentioned about some programs... for when you get older... what were they again...? (Me: ๐ŸŽ…)
I feel even older thinking about how PS4 dropped more than 10 years ago...
... ๐Ÿ’€

The nineties aren't the party that just ended and 1999 wasn't yesterday, but 26 years have already passed since then and so we are closer to 2050 than to '99.

Image downloaded from somewhere I can't remember.

suddenly remembering the fact that city pop and vaporwave aesthetic trend is like ... 7-8 years old now.
damn. some music i found back in 2018 that felt really new and fresh (still feels new and fresh to me) is like freakin 8 years old . where did the time go?

just feels like time after 2020 didn't feel real or substantial at all

Having to remind someone that things weren't really that different at a certain point.

I mainly need to remind youngsters that having access to so much media all the time and even all the anime of crunchroll and netflix is a blessing, not a curse.

I remember being an anime fan in the 90's, whatever was on TV or somehow on Tape in a store either locally(rarely) or being bought in a bigger store that stocked foreign movies in a one of the big cities or having an older brother going through his edgy manga video phase or taping the anime on the sci fi channel.

Trust me, things are much better now youngsters!!!

Also games being released in most regions is also taken for granted. Literally, square fans in europe were told to go fuck themselves for too long!

Being an anime fan was genuinely niche before 2015, then it exploded.

I felt old when I was watching gundam G quuux in the cinema, I'm a good 15 years older than everyone in there.

I also can't eat like shit anymore without getting fat and poor health.

my favourite youtube video is 18 years old now. it really is something to see so many years pass by it

A little while ago I told a coworker about how I used to rent OG Dragon Ball on dvd from Netflix. They looked at me like I cast a hex on them.

Also the Wii is getting close to being able to drink in the US, which makes me feel quite old

Things I got to experience as a late 1990s anime nerd:

* VHS fansubs. Paying just enough to get tapes shipped. It was a good way to experience shows which wouldn't be licensed for years (Kodocha), or which were never licensed (Combustible Campus Guardress).

* The messy but fascinating growth of Tokyopop. It was a market where localized manga were first released as $3 US issues, and collected in paperbacks that cost at least $15. I criticized Tokyopop for inconsistent localizations. However, the company started going against these trends. They phased out comic issues in a hurry. Their books started at $10 each.

* Jan Scott-Frazier's column in Animerica Extra magazine. She wrote about her adventures breaking into the anime industry. She didn't use the word transgender, but her column was the first time I realized that transgender people existed. I'm glad that I got to thank her for her writing while she was still alive.

What is really making me feel old is to see people in their late teens being nostalgic about games that I was already working or on college whey they were first released, like Minecraft or Roblox.

Or when they talk about an old youtuber who's gone for years and I have no idea who they were.

When I hear people younger than me complaining about being old.
