When WoW Classic launched I got to partake in my semi-casual raiding guild’s first kill of C’thun, which was always something of a childhood dream of mine since I had only heard about the boss in legends back then. It’s not a monumental task or anything, but it was a great personal achievement.

They were a great bunch because they weren’t hard-asses to us more casual players, and happily had us along to help fill slots. As I was a Restoration Shaman I still helped a decent amount because their heals were so good and totems are lifesavers. It was my only stint in raising but it was fun and I learned a lot about that side of the game.

Fun times!

I have nothing im proud of I just play games. But what I find amusing is how other people get internet fame and im sitting here I literately done the same fucking thing and what did I get for it ? Jack shit.

I men take Let me solo her. Bitch get internet fame for soloing a 1 "hard boss" When the game launched I solo Malenia 100s of time because it´s my favorite boss and it´s a damn fun boss fight and I did it long before that Muppet got his internet fame. I have solo every damn boss in from demon souls to dark souls to elden ring because I have 0 friends to co-op with and I hate playing with random people.

And honestly I bet there are several people that has solo malenia 100s of times not only me. But one fucking muppet does it and they gain internet fame.

Honestly gaining internet fame is utterly pointless it and it also neglect several people that done the same thing and maybe was even first. But no one gives a fuck.

So yeah honestly I have nothing to be proud of becuse it means nothing in the end. So I could give lets fucks about it as you will never be awarded for it and instead your proboly called a no lifer or some other insulting thing.
I did the same thing for the Elden Beast, literally hundreds of times, without merit, so I kind of get your position. But the thing is you, I and Let Me Solo Her, none of us did it for the clout, right?
And for LMSH it just kinda happened.

I did! I made liberal use of a guide though. x) I don't think I would have ever caught onto the whole chain of events that end in putting a piggy bank on a frozen towel so it lures the cop Shibito out when it thaws and the piggy bank falls and shatters. If I recall, an interview with one of the devs said the game was a bit esoteric on purpose because they knew the internet would figure it out. The levels with Harumi were a true test of stealth, she runs the slowest in the game I believe and it's game over if a Shibito just gets close to her. Props on her for being the only character in the game to both survive and escape the underworld, it's a shame Reiko didn't though. :< She was my favorite character. But nooo, she had to die and her head had to turn into a toothy burger. At least she ended up being the most badass Shibito in the series by overcoming the whole Shibito thing to save Harumi from Eiji. Hats off to you, Mrs. Takato.
::bigboss

But let's be real here, the reason you did it was to impress Eddy, wasn't it? I hoped it worked.

I'd recommend checking out these videos if you have the time and/or interest. Lotsa neat stuff to be learned about the games in them, she goes super in-depth. :>

To be exact it was inspired by Tower of druaga, a game that was super huge in japan during Toyama's childhood
I never got that either I just smah the piggy bank then sidestep away from the door frame until he wastes all his shots htne I clobber him haha

Harumi's levels are tense surem but the toughest one for me is the fucking first level with Reiko THOSE DATATSUSHIS-FORSAKEN CANDLES!! You must finish the level without dying to get them, if you die after acquiring them they disappear from your inventory

::angrygenjin

And ccompleting that level is such a bitch because of all the things going on at the same time

First of all getting harumi to the checkpoint room is a bitch
Then you gotta get to the gymnasium without getting turned into swiss cheese by the revolver shibito, and After That you gotta HOPE harumi spawns at the nearest room and not the first floor or you gotta get you ass all the way up there before ther principal wakes up. And he will.

So when you you're running from the first floor to the exit (cant run too fast or harumi wont catch up and it's an insta game over if a shibito gets her) you gotta Pray you don't come across the principal, if baldy sees you hope you're not sanwiched between him and another shibito or it's a near guaranteed game over because he's too strong

And do all of this before gun shibito wakes up

Hmm, yeah, I had forgotten about that level. I had a friend who was playing through the game and that level was as far as he ever got. x) I seem to recall the first half being not the absolute worst, but once you reach the gym and have to worry about everything you mentioned, it is not a good time. I seem to recall having a difficult time getting the candles too, I never seemed to put Harumi in the correct closet and the candles not saving if you start over from the checkpoint was just bullshit. I'm glad they changed that for the second game, it was a pain in the ass for both items as well as archive items.

It makes the level so much more tense, it is bs but the loving kind; it's what makes the level so memorable

The closet is easy to spot, it's the second classroom, the teacher's desk has meleted candles on it

Another pretty damn hard one is all the hospital levels, because of how many ways you can fuck up and how long they are

Believe it or not I got through Risa's hospital level without killing Mina on my first time

yeah

I think that's a strength of the game in general. I feel like that's why the game was so memorable as a whole for me, you really couldn't fuck around and being in danger constantly just made everything more intense. It also forced you to be familiar with the levels and spend plenty of time scouting the routes of the enemies. That's the mark of a good horror game. As much as I love Silent Hill, none of them were hard or particularly intense, even the more bullshit ones like 4 and Shattered Memories and that's why I feel like that series is creepy, atmospheric and moody, but not really scary.

...This was something I never noticed. Well. Don't know how I missed that, but good to know if I ever want to hate my life again by replaying the game.

Ah, yeah, the hospital stages didn't fuck around either. I do remember having some trouble with Mina on Risa's stage, taking her down with the umbrella without the fire extinguisher is possible, but a nightmare. Good work on Metal Gearing it past her on your first try!

That was very well put!! The exploration is also enhanced by how damn detailed the level are, they used real locations as inspiration or straight recreated them! Did you read the prequel stories?

Did you try silent hill on hard? 3 especially gets very tough!

Hahaha! I accidentally wrote over my 100% save file, it's ok I wanted to 100% it again but dang I couldve had a picture to show off for this thread

Oh mina's not the hard part, she's easy, just run to the stairs until she turns around then use the fire extinguisher to stun her and she's dies in 4-5 hits (every hit in her stunned state is a critical)

The problem is all the Other shibito..
Risa is the 2nd weakest character after a little girl, and her weapon the umbrella is the weakest weapon; taking 3-4 hits to down a spider shibito

The level is infested with the creepy fuckers, they are fast, when you enter that one room from the window you probably wont have time to prepare yourself against the Two spiders jumping you

You're really supposed to take the brain out (your sis) and then walk past the spiders while they're dead
But I demonstrated it IS possible to fight your way out!

Never again...

Its a testament to the game how I was so scared of Mina I didnt even try to find a way to fight her

Aww, thank you. <3 I like to think I know at least a little about horror. Your knowledge is really good too, I'm always happy to see your opinions and ideas. I have not read the prequel stories, unless you're talking about the ARG websites and the Siren Maniacs books. TIL it has several manga. Are these the correct ones? I also have not seen the movie. I downloaded it yeaaaaars ago but it didn't have subtitles so I put off getting a subbed copy and still haven't done so yet. x) I hear the movie is pretty meh though.

I have! I've beaten 1-3 and Homecoming to 100% completion. I still don't know why I played that much Homecoming, it was even before I started drinking and doing drugs! Seriously though, 3 was easily the hardest of the series. Supplies were way more scarce and enemies like the Closer and Insane Cancer were rather tanky. Unlike 1 and 2, if you tried to kill every enemy, you'd be out of ammo and health supplies really quickly. The melee weapons were less powerful too. No OP as fuck Hammer from 1. But yeah, 3 had moments of intensity while avoiding enemies and during combat with both enemies and bosses, but ultimately still wasn't dangerous enough to trigger my feeling of fear very often. I think the scariest part of the series is and will always be Silent Hill: Revelation. One of my most disliked films of all time. The acting and special effects caused almost fatal psychic damage.

Now I wonder if I still have my save file. Well, I know I never erased or overwrote it, but one of my PS2 memory cards is MIA and I'm not sure which one the save was on. Godspeed when/if you 100% it again, you are far more brave than I.

Fuck, I'd forgotten about the spider shibito. I remembered the other forms, but not that one. Yeah, those things are the worst. They were bad enough as is, but then you discover they get back up in a matter of seconds and then you know you're in for a bad time. Just remember when you play again, Mina is weak to doors.

Zelda II gets easier in the mid point when you have a proper downward and upward attack but I do agree it's quite challenging.
I played on GBA and I think I only once got up to Death Mountain. I'll give it another shot one day

For mine:
I beat The One Reborn in bloodborne on my first try without killing the old ladies up the stairs. I wish I had filmed it
I also beat crash bandicoot 2 in like 2 and a half hours, it's on my Speedrun page

I beat Yizamat in original FFXII 15 years ago in original ps2 I remember I started at 2pm and end on 12 midnight man that 50 million hp is still a headache to this day.

I beat the last level of the original Call Of Duty without getting hit once... But then attempted to freeze mid-air by jumping off the Reichstag (?) while the credits were rolling, but they weren't fast enough and I died XD

Changing my mindset regarding SoulsBorne games and managing to finish Dark Souls 3 & Elden Ring. I used to let the difficult reputation of those games stop me from trying them, but I persevered through DS3 back in 2021 and finished all the DLC.
I played Elden Ring a bunch back in 2023 and beat all the unique bosses. Nowadays I kinda understand the feeling of having a boss kick my butt for days and finally managing to beat them!

I've got a 1CC on Embodiment of Scarlet Devil's Hard difficulty, wasn't ever able to beat Lunatic or the Extra stage though. I'd like to 1CC a Cave game some day but the only one I could get close in was Espgaluda and even then the final boss kicked my ass...

I can not remember ever playing 3-13 FE Radiant Dawn and ever getting that one archer to hold that choke hold point. I've always beaten that one by the skin of my teeth with no player units lost on either side except for my first run that told me they would die on that field.

I never beat the version of FE Fates that was basically the hard mode playthrough. I love FE, but I suck at it!

My accomplishments might not be much....I defeated all the bosses in Sekiro, completed a Crash bandicoot levels on my first try, beat resident evil 7 dying twice in the first time I played it on normal. Forgot to add, defeated Sans in like the 24 or 23rd attempt and now just casually fight him sometimes on a website.
