What gaming accomplishments are you most proud of?

Demons Souls on PS3 is pretty famous for having a really difficult platinum because of low drop rate on certain materials.
Man that brings back memories - that was the dumbest Souls platinum to get ever.

I was lucky enough to get that platinum when they were still running pure black/pure white world tendency server events on the regular. Pretty sure I would have given up on that game otherwise. The amount of times I ran down those damned Geckos in that one large room in the Mines area... Just an awful experience.

That said, as someone who refuses to pay for console multiplayer access, getting the DS3 platinum was one giant chore as well. I must have killed thousands of silver knights for those friggin' ears.

Man don't make me remember the Silver Knights...even with multiplayer (which is so much for DkSIII), that still took a billion years...and I did it for PS4 and PC ?

Also, massacring Rotten Ghru's on the bridge for Swordgrass in the swamp wasn't much better.

Don't worry, it's not a need. You've either made yourself feel proud or you have not.

That's a cool accolade to have, nicely done. :)
Thanks.

Maybe it's my education telling me that pride is not that good to have and that I should stay humble anytime (something like "why do you feel proud? You're expecting congratulations when It's just a normal thing to do?").

That and maybe because I used to know other gamers that spent more time bragging how great they were in a game without letting me learn it as they destroyed me at it (probably because they were not that good at it) and how their computer was the best compared to mine despite that it was offered by some family member while mine was paid from my job.

I agree with you for the most part. However, to have no pride in oneself, even if just for trivial things, can result in low self esteem, which others can leverage to their advantage.

That person you're referring to sound like a bit of a tool whose pride was misplaced and unearned. Thankfully, as you worked for your wealth, and they did not, there words on the subject should mean very little to you.

These three ps4 trophies and the first time I beat Bowser's Inside Story. Only reason I didn't get THPS 1+2's platinum is because of how much grinding it would take to level up to 100

Was also one of the first 100 or so people to ever get the Drawn to Death platinum. I wish I still had my leaderboard screenshots showing I had the highest win streak record in ranked and was top 100 in other metrics like total kills and MMR too, but the platinum will always be there :)

Only a couple thousand people ever earned it, with most of those people earning it through lame boosting methods after the game's matchmaking became barren and exploitable. Got mine legit though ::megadancebaby

I miss this game something fierce...

I have played and beaten (reached the end credits) on every possible game in the Mystery Dungeon franchise. There are some mobile games and satellaview episodes that are lost to time unfortunately, but I beat everything else. Once I'm high enough level for the Writer's guild I plan to write a big review/writeup on the series

Even the more obscure such as the GBA Torneko 3, Young Yangus, the WonderSwan Chocobo Dungeon and Nightmare of Druaga? Nice!

I have tried most of them (through emulation) but hardly finished some of them.

100%ing Siren
Those who know know
Took me like a month
Oh no, you poor thing. I took the same journey, it was an experience. I will bump Bloodborne down to second place after this. Bloodborne took me longer, I kept getting bored and annoyed with trying to reach Yharnam, Pthumerian Queen, but Siren was the true nightmare. I keep wanting to replay it for fun, because there is a lot to love in the game, but thinking about what I'd have to go through again makes me want to just get punched in the dick repeatedly instead. I need to just play through the second game, it's the only one of the three that I haven't beaten yet.

I was able to 100 percent the Spyro trilogy despite losing my mind over certain skill points and collectibles. Shout out to Spyro 1 and Ripto's Rage for having the audacity to casually whip out illusionary walls for one or two collectibles and then never again. Sparx is the MVP

At least the walls are marked with some kind of cracks. They definitely coulda been meaner about it if they wanted to but I agree that they don't use the cracked wall gimmick enough that you'll really be paying that close attention to the textures. The one in the second homeworld of Ripto's Rage made me lose my mind for like 45 minutes and I felt so dense after I found what I was supposed to do lol

Never went for all skill points though, that's usually quite the ask for an Insomniac game!

I think you win!

Beating the entire base campaign of Elden Ring with no summons using a mostly Str build, including every shardbearer. I'll never forget my deadly dance with Melenia, Gargoyle's Fire Greatsword in hand. Spacing her out with Flaming Strike, careful not to over commit and rolling away from her hyper armored roundhouse, to then follow up with an overhead strike. I hadn't mastered dodging Waterfowl Dance, so I stood my ground and resisted it all by swapping to my Banished Knight's Shield with Barracade Shield. It felt empowering to finally fight at her level, one on one.

I game for these specific moments. Priceless. Congratulations. :)

Coaching my girlfriend (of 4 years now) into beating the Dark Souls 3 tutorial boss. It's not much, but I really like thinking back on it.
Marry her.

See, this is what I get for playing the Reignited trilogy instead of the original: the cracks got replaced by exposed brick. I had no idea it was breakable until Sparx pointed at the wall.

Those were really fun, especially in Spyro 1 because they reward exploration and platforming, or have you solve a little puzzle.

I beat Mike Tyson once in Punch-Out. Once. It was by decision, but I'll take it!
I beat Contra on NES without getting hit.
I beat Mario Bros 1 + 2 + 3 in under an hour. I know there's harder Mario Bros challenges but I havent tried them.
I feel like beating every boss in Dark Souls 1/2/3 was sort of an accomplishment lol

I did! I made liberal use of a guide though. x) I don't think I would have ever caught onto the whole chain of events that end in putting a piggy bank on a frozen towel so it lures the cop Shibito out when it thaws and the piggy bank falls and shatters. If I recall, an interview with one of the devs said the game was a bit esoteric on purpose because they knew the internet would figure it out. The levels with Harumi were a true test of stealth, she runs the slowest in the game I believe and it's game over if a Shibito just gets close to her. Props on her for being the only character in the game to both survive and escape the underworld, it's a shame Reiko didn't though. :< She was my favorite character. But nooo, she had to die and her head had to turn into a toothy burger. At least she ended up being the most badass Shibito in the series by overcoming the whole Shibito thing to save Harumi from Eiji. Hats off to you, Mrs. Takato.
::bigboss

But let's be real here, the reason you did it was to impress Eddy, wasn't it? I hoped it worked.

I'd recommend checking out these videos if you have the time and/or interest. Lotsa neat stuff to be learned about the games in them, she goes super in-depth. :>

I have nothing im proud of I just play games. But what I find amusing is how other people get internet fame and im sitting here I literately done the same fucking thing and what did I get for it ? Jack shit.

I men take Let me solo her. Bitch get internet fame for soloing a 1 "hard boss" When the game launched I solo Malenia 100s of time because it´s my favorite boss and it´s a damn fun boss fight and I did it long before that Muppet got his internet fame. I have solo every damn boss in from demon souls to dark souls to elden ring because I have 0 friends to co-op with and I hate playing with random people.

And honestly I bet there are several people that has solo malenia 100s of times not only me. But one fucking muppet does it and they gain internet fame.

Honestly gaining internet fame is utterly pointless it and it also neglect several people that done the same thing and maybe was even first. But no one gives a fuck.

So yeah honestly I have nothing to be proud of becuse it means nothing in the end. So I could give lets fucks about it as you will never be awarded for it and instead your proboly called a no lifer or some other insulting thing.
Bro, are you okay?

  • Beat Super Mario Bros without losing any lives or Fire Mario, completing all levels, and beating every Bowser with fireballs on original hardware.
  • Beat the first 3 Zelda games without saving, dying, or stopping on original hardware.
  • Beat Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts on original hardware.
  • Convinced a Funcoland employee the store owed me a new PS1 (original edition) and a copy of FF7 after a faulty PS1 dismantled itself and mangled my copy.
  • As a teenager, got away with walking into the beaded curtain area at the local video store on the excuse that it was the game section 2 months ago.

Your entire comment feels like a sort of cry for help but I just wanna point out that the dude was famous for soloing her within a month of the game launching, so "long before" doesn't really fit lol. He likely solod the fight within days of launch and then made an alt character specifically to repeat the fight over and over again within weeks before gaining notoriety for doing so.

There are tons of people who playthrough the games solo, my first run of any Souls game is done solo cause that's what I prefer to do. But the reason he specifically became infamous was for the odd gear setup, username, doing it in co-op which means the boss is powered up and the fact that it's all he did for weeks on end. It was a fun thing that made people happy, and no one lost anything. Very weird of you to insult the person and act like it was some grand issue.

I recommend just welcoming some joy in your life or just looking the other way if you somehow get bothered by other people's bliss.
