What gaming accomplishments are you most proud of?

getting every single achievement for Bayonetta and Bloodborne. "The shadow remains cast" and "You died" will forever humble me

Number 1 in the world for Vanquish full score run on console. This uses my old username but if you checked it now it would use SomniaCE, my updated tag. Across 360, PS3, Xbox One and PS4 it is the highest recorded score. Not sure if anyone on PC has done better legitimately cause I have never had the chance to look at the leaderboards for that version.

The score is for Hard, but it beats Very Easy, Easy, Normal and God Hard scores too. I have not run score for God Hard though so I'm definitely not the best in that category! The leaderboards are not the total of your individual level runs, but the total of a single front to back playthrough. On most levels though I am #1, top 10 at worst.

Its my 2nd or 3rd favorite game (FFX is #1 and Bloodborne is the other top 3 contender), couldnt tell ya how many hours I've spent running it dozens of times and pushing for single level high scores.

Beating the entire base campaign of Elden Ring with no summons using a mostly Str build, including every shardbearer. I'll never forget my deadly dance with Melenia, Gargoyle's Fire Greatsword in hand. Spacing her out with Flaming Strike, careful not to over commit and rolling away from her hyper armored roundhouse, to then follow up with an overhead strike. I hadn't mastered dodging Waterfowl Dance, so I stood my ground and resisted it all by swapping to my Banished Knight's Shield with Barracade Shield. It felt empowering to finally fight at her level, one on one.

Beating Legend of Dragoon by using basic additions alone. I treated that as a challenge to myself. Only fight I didn't use Additions on was with Kongol.

DS2 is the second hardest. Demons Souls on PS3 is pretty famous for having a really difficult platinum because of low drop rate on certain materials. I'm glad the platinum is much easier on PS5 because I don't think I could do it again. I wish you luck on getting there.

Funny enough, despite no longer needing it for the Platinum, Pure Bladestone has a much better drop rate now. I've gotten multiple with only very short sessions.

Thankfully with the solid PC port and 60fps remasters, there's no better time than now! Won't be for everyone but its a short enough experience that it won't take you more than a dedicated weekend at best. It also shows you what its about so early on that it won't waste a ton of your time if you just end up wanting to drop it. I'd say if by the end of Chapter 2 you aren't enjoying yourself much you can just pack it in and understand it isn't your thing.

During the early Halo 3 days my buddies and I would comb through all of our online replays for sick screenshots and clips, and then upload them. Being able to finish very long games which takes 80+ hours. I don't have as much freetime like I used to have during my childhood/teenage years so I always get surprised whenever I manage to finish long games.

Getting white agro in SOTC. Simply impossible without using an unconventional method on at least one colossus. Here is an image with all the objects in the fountain and another with the white mare.

(By the way, I got it at the end of 2023, so I made a joke to my mother about this mare and a very typical New Year's song from here, and I forgot to make that joke here at the end of 2024)

Just the sheer realization that I bothered to beat games from start to finish when I've been downloading 100% save files for years and just editing them to my preferences ... I guess that's accomplishments for me

Das brutal. I mean they all are, but damn. I completed Earthworm Jim when I was around that age, maybe a couple years older. I felt like a champ for that.

To be fair, me and my cousin play it almost everyday for 2 years (yes, since I was 3) before we finally beat the game, it was pretty much a never ending process of trial and error.

Beating entirety of Resident evil 3 without googling up any puzzle.

I spent 3 days looking for the black stone in FF7 and was thinking about googling it but found the merchant who sold it at the last moment..

I spent an entire month on battle of the rhine in sudden strike 2 bombarding every bit of the map crazy one fr.

I played silent hill although I was too scared still even with that continued playing

As claire I didn't need the grenade launcher until the alligator fight (truth is I missed it) so I fought everything with pistol.

Spent 2 hours fighting psycho mantis without knowing how to beat him instead of googling it I waited till colonel found out how...

Beaten all of SA with no cheats not the most impressive of feats but for someone to have played GTA with cheats up till that point its impressive.

Managed to beat ultimecia with 1 health only.

I don't feel the need to "feel proud" of a video game/entertainment but I'd say that I've finished Super Smash Bros Brawl's story mode in the Japanese version before it came out in the US and Europe so I am sure I'm part of the firsts people in my region that have beaten Tabuu ever.
