On the 32X you think was impossible on any other system at the time? like couldn't have been reworked for the Sega CD, the genesis or the Super Nintendo? vs what game on the Sega CD did this? vs jaguar vs 3do etc? basically showcased the system and made you go out to buy it as it had a game only possible at the time a short time say before the Saturn or psi came out to shine?
I think Knuckles' Chaotix would have been very hard to pull off on other systems because of its nightmare-inducing color palettes. It has a very distinct look that I don't think was easily matched on other consoles at the time.
Yeah, the 32X actually came out after the Saturn in Japan, and Sega of Japan was mostly focused on the Saturn at the time only giving the 32X the minimum amount of dev effort.
That's also why the Saturn version of Virtua Fighter is kind of balls though. It was super rushed to meet the launch.

More to the point, the 32X existed as an executive decision, rather than a true technological leap. Sega wanted to give the immense Mega Drive/Genesis install base something they could coast on that would, in theory, feel reasonably modern until they were ready to take the plunge to the Saturn.
Sadly, 32X games were undercooked, overhyped, overpriced and underdelivering. It was too expensive for what it offered in and most games were marginally better ports of already existing Mega Drive games (sometimes worse) so it very much failed in its mission statement outside of very few releases like Shadow Squadron and Metal Head.
Just setting it up was a nightmare too, and so was the power draw.
what about blackthorn. damm that game looks beautiful but im playing it on an emulator with filters the water efefct could it really have been done on just a pure genesis? it looks like a psx paltformer to me.
Blackthorn is on SNES. Actually it's a DOS game and both the SNES and 32X versions are ports. The 32X version does use new pre-rendered sprites since it came out like a year later while the SNES version uses the original DOS sprites, but it's not like the SNES couldn't do pre-rendered sprites.
I dont believe it sorry I just dont. that water effect too i dont believe it could be done on snes the dripple from the waterfall.

According to Sarah Avory who claimed to have been a dev on this game they pished the sega cd to its absolute limits beyond wht a pure genesis could do. do you guys believe her? read the comment section in this vid:

do you think that sonic above meaning the official 3d sonic they were working on for the 32z would be possible on a standard genesis or seg cd? with a fx like chip?
i think it looked amazing and fun i mean at least. but something that would play better with an analog controller like the one they release dons aturn for the nights game.
i mean every added processor, every dded ram, every cpu upgrade should in theory make something possible on that syste that a systemw ithout this couldnt do right?
Power and specifications do not translate to quality directly. It's a false equivalency. Look at something like at Spider-Man Web Of Fire and tell me you need an expensive addon to get that kind of output.
in that case why get new consoles anyway. i mean with ur views no one would try to invest in future hardwar eor develoeprs would not try pushing systems to their limit would they?

Why not just release cyberpunk on the ps3? im sure it could have been done no? or possible?
No, sorry, you understood my point the other way around. I'm saying good hardware doesn't translate to good games automatically. That has always been true.
Just look at the Jaguar.
To address your earlier point , Blackthorne on the 32X does use sprites, they are just pre-rendered.
