PC To the people still on windows 10 why?

It's not an upgrade, and Linux has a whole host of compatibility issues that don't simply go away because the Linux user base pretends like they're not present. If anything, I'll be looking for a legacy windows 10 stripped of all Microsoft presence to switch to in the near future
while issues are numerous albeit the kinks are slowly getting worked over time, what compatability issues in particular trouble you? Gaming wise ive yet to see an issue with any steam or gog game i try and all my emulators work kink free

that picture looks intimidating as hell but im always interested in new DAWs
I know this is a bit off topic but you should explore some of the native Linux audio production software.
i was wanting to try lmms seeing as its pattern based like FL and making electronic music it just made sense but ive been wary considering its last update was 6 years ago now.

All fair reasons, quick question though; what do you use 64 gigs of ram for? I have 32 ddr5 and even thats overkill for me, is there any program youre using that needs that much ram? No judgment just interested in the why
Believe it or not, it came pre-installed that way from Apple! I thought it was a little bit of overkill at the time, too. But given that it was an academic / university model that was meant for teaching Photoshop, Final Cut, and the like, I think they just thought, "The more RAM, the merrier." 😅

Three reasons:

1- I don't trust in Microslop and Windows 11

2- Maybe some Linux OS could be a good option, but I'm worried about potential software incompatibilities and many others unexpected drawbacks.

3 - i have outdated PC specs

Windows 10 is just fine to me, at least for now.

If I had the choice I would be using Windows XP, but I begrudgingly use Windows 10 because I don't have much of a choice. Its better then 11. I seems like every other month an update breaks something. Plus its just uglier imo.

I just don't like change, that's all. I usually upgrade when stuff stop working on the old system or when the new system offers something I need. That said, those end of support messages on Win 10 are starting to piss me off, I'll probably jump to WIN 10 IOT as soon as I get some time. To me, the best OS is one you don't have to think about, it just do it's job. And also I have a portable Retrobat USB Hard drive that I can take anywhere and just plug into any Windows PC available for some quick gaming on the road, Linux won't be as flexible.

Because I trust Microsoft as far as I can throw them,so I won't upgrade to Windows 11 period.

Also I would have switched to Linux a long time ago but I can't install it on my PC without deleting all of my stuff on as I did not get the option to install it besides Windows, and I neither have the drive nor space to back up everything on my PC...so I am stuck on Windows for the time being.

Also I tried a Linux Mint PC somehow fucked it up something about the installer apparently or whatever..the system is great but also can really easily screw you over.

I use Windows 10 because it works and can be easily maintained on my systems. I also use Debian.
I have a dozen PCs kicking around my home.

Why would I want to use Windows 11? Microsoft keeps breaking stability, indexing files, and sending telemetry to their cloud without permission.

1) I don't like how Windows 11 demands you use a subscription for everything
and
2) I'm not computer literate enough to use linux. I got by as much as I could with mint on my old laptop

cuz it's still works, but I will make a new all AMD pc in the future for Linux, and it will be my main machine, still haven't decided whether it will be xubuntu, mint xfce, or nobara, or zorin, with a nice retro windows rice

That picture is just showing a few different jack apps, a midi sequencer and a midi controller and how they can be routed.

I've used LMMS a little bit thinking the same as you having used FL on windows but from what I remember it actually didn't work well with JACK so I didn't use it much. There are other pattern based sequencers available. My workflow tends to be something like a midi sequencer piped over to instrument tracks in Ardour, which is a really nice fully featured open sourced DAW. I use sends and other tracks in ardour and mix everything down to a two channel track. Then I usually setup another track for mastering and pipe the mixdown to that.

Because im too cool for this update :

Microslop . Please stop getting on my balls with your Bakugans called " updates" and " patches " .
Ur Gay and i fucked ur mom , Billy Gaytes .
Born to shit , forced to wipe but still hungry to eat it .

Ughhh my pc don't have tpm 2.0 and drivers for windows 11 so why sholud i use 11? To see bugs and slowdowns? I don't need Linux in any form.

Many reasons:
-My PC doesn't have tpm 2.0 for Windows 11
-Windows 11 is garbo
- I can still use my pirated adobe apps from 2014 like Photoshop, illustrator for drawing etc my drawing tablet works with usb
-Playing my Steam games, Music media players like Winamp and Windows Media Player
-Windows 10 just works

I have a Dell Latitude E6430 laptop.
I searched for a photo of this model on Google. It was given to me seven years ago.

I have Windows 10 installed on it, which makes it look like a real old man with a cane. Each folder opens after 5-10 seconds, and the PC boots after a good three minutes. I'm not sure if installing Windows XP or Windows 7 on it would be worth it; perhaps I'll turn it into a sort of retro console.

Throwing Linux on it would probably be better in the long term.

Sorry for the off-topic.

Didnt you enable the hibernation plus fast startup on control panel?

Windows 11 is full of anti consumer BS and intrusive AI crap, besides its aesthetic is cooler

I have a landlocked (no internet) Windows 10 PC used for various media editing.
In short, I don't trust MS not to screw something up with the delicate way I have some program extensions and plugins running. Either a Win 10 update or Win 11 (which is essentially add-ware/malware).
A lot of the extensions and plugins won't run as efficiently as I need them to under WINE. That's the only reason.
My daily driver and other media rig is a Linux machine.

Windows 11 is a lot more resource heavy than Windows 10. Also Windows 10 just looks better than 11 imo. Windows 11 looks and feels like a subpar Linux distro. When I get a new laptop I'll most likely put a good Linux distro on it instead of whatever Windows is available at the time. I've been using Windows 10 for several years and I think it might be my favorite out of all the more modern Windows versions. XP will forever be the best version of Windows and it sucks we can't really use it anymore. Unless you're using it for older legacy software and games I guess

That's what I ended up doing: I installed Linux Mint, and I have to say I gained some speed, but nothing major. Maybe I need to upgrade the internal storage; 300GB isn't enough, I imagine.
