Rumour has it that when Sony saw that the PS Vita had been hacked, it internally dropped support for the portable.

Yeah, i was actually watching a video about that yesterday.
It's so weird how the DS / 3DS could exist simultaneously at the same time and also be easily jailbroken yet still had massive success just for sony to make the decision that since their software was exploitable to, they just had to kill the Vita outright

To be fair PlayStation probably spends significant more money in hardware and game development than Nintendo.

I think the fact that the console wasn't selling great, in part because of the price of the proprietary SD cards, coupled with the Vita being jailbroken killed Sony support. A shame!

Hmm, I'm not quite sure what to think of this handheld. It wasn't as successful as the first PSP but somehow I didn't understand why. Well, it's not important anymore, but he did have a few good games. To bad really!

omg i remember my cousin used to own a vita long ago, i tried it a bit but i don't remember what game i played at the time. the concept of having a touchscreen on a psp sounds very cool like we just witnessed a flying car but the problem is it was very expensive either from any retail stores or sony themselve

Never saw a single PS Vita ad when it was sold. Now I'm coming across them I'm wondering if they forgot the actual product they were selling.

Question to those of you with modded Vitas: Is it easy to move dl'd homebrew off the sd to back it up? I want to try getting away with a 64gb card and a max 6-8 games at a time.

Backing up your SD card isn't a straighforward thing on the PS Vita. You can try creating an image of your card.

Got a Vita 2000 off ebay in 2018 along with one of those Hori grips and it was awesome. All I really wanted was something to play PSX games on the go. I don't know how many remember the Chinese handheld scene in 2018 but it wasn't all that great. Best bet was a PSP, but when I found a CFW Vita with a 64GB for $150 I had to get it. Bought a goodly amount of games on the Sony store before it crapped out. And P4G. Holy crap I played the crap out of that game
