The Inn -- General Gaming Chat

The game did sell well, and made to the 360/PS3 Platinum Hits/Greatest Hits label, but it was never enough money for EA.
Which baffles and bothers me that this is still a problem almost 20 years later/removed. There are indie games that sell hundreds of thousands of copies alone on Steam with very little marketing/publicity. But then again, they don't have to answer to stockholders

Hmm... cool af.

I am in the middle of Chapter 4 for now of Romeo Is A Dead Man. I will give the game this, it has way more combat options than No More Heroes III. Not that Travis in that specific game didn't have any, but his was much more limited compared to the previous games and Killer Is Dead. I got all the weapons early, but now I got level a few up. The melee weapons are fine, but I beef up the default swords to get big damage in, and fast swing. Enemy variety is getting much diverse as you progress. I love the Killer7 throwback with the zombie weak points.

Also, fuck the mall boss in Chapter 2! I was nearly stuck on him for half an hour! At least I got a sweet kill out of it! I bought all of the melee weapons, and upgraded the standard sword so far. I am going to start upgrading the ranged weapons soon.

Been playing some King Colossus for the Mega-Drive, really do love the game. But ever since I started playing Fatal Labyrinth, I can't get out of my mind how similar the graphics and some of the gameplay are. (Which is fine, love them both)

I see so many good artists and talented people here in RGT that i have no idea why you guys don't develop a game, and i naturally wouldn't trust your DEV team (F U), but either way you can do something cool, i don't know.

I'm sure there have to be a few people here working on some pet projects! My brother and I have been working on something but it's a very slow process and who knows when we'll have something shareable lol. I've been loving making music and pixel art regardless of where it goes.

Random, but on the topic of "the inn", I just remembered how the Etrian Odyssey series is consistent in how all the innkeepers have their eyes closed. (It is where people get some shut-eye after all.)

A few days ago I was playing Pac-Man Rally with my cousins, doing insane drifts with Linkin Park playing in the background. It was epic!
(I ended up winning the races.)

I have a small Mega Man fangame in mind, but first I'm learning how to use the Godot Engine. I'm also practicing songs on my guitar.

Most of the old horror games has some of the best paintings and portraits (i'm referring more to the classical way of painting) in videogames in general. I had played some modern games that include any kind of paintings, and despite those having better graphics engines, if you look at the paintings they don't contain almost any soul in it.

There is something special (beside the context of a horror atmosphere) that make painting, specially portraits, real and touch your imagination more.

I thought this long time ago while i was playing Hunting Ground, but Alone in the Dark (Ps1) has this, etc. Vagrant Story have some horror elements, and even there i found some paintings, if i remember correctly, they show us some of them, and those are fucking awesome a very nice artistically build.
Maybe i'm crazy but when i'm looking paintings in modern games feels more like seeing JPG images in front of my mustache, and my pavlovian response is immediate; throw up.

I tried playing Pokemon Diamond because I thought that a little change of pace would help (and also because Gen IV remains my least favorite one) and... I can't believe how boring the fucking thing is. I don't even know what they did differently from other titles on the series, only that I have never struggled to like a Pokemon game this badly.

Spent 20 minutes waiting for my PS1 to boot a burnt copy of MGS (German dub, because why not). May have to increase the lens power output again. And buy another lens.

20 minutes. Guess one builds that kind of patience when, way way back in the past, you had to wait for tape cassette games to load.

I have so many memories attached to games with music. I've been listening to the album American Idiot a lot lately and I get thrown back to being a teen in my basement playing battlefront 2 on ps2 with my cd player blasting We Are the Waiting in mustafar.

I've never played KOTOR2 so I wanted to replay KOTOR1 and then jump into 2. I have KOTOR on PC. I'm heavily debating whether or not to actually get the mobile port for once in my life.
>Install game and boot up: it crashes
>Install mods for 16:9 resolution and do other tweaks
>get into first fight on Endar Spire, character can't move afterwards
>Forgot to turn on Vsync, continue playing
>Forgot to turn off grass, crash in Taris underground
>Get through Taris, game starts crashing trying to get to Davik's Estate
>Run game in compatibility mode, black screen in the middle but at least I can load into Davik's Estate without crashing
>Save game, quit out, turn off compatibility mode, reload
>Continue progress

I love KOTOR but I forgot how much of a pain in the ass it is to play on PC.

Going off what I remember from Pearl a few years back, it's likely just the pacing of UI elements being needlessly sluggish, which definitely makes battles and random encounters a total slog.

That aside, I do really like Sinnoh's vibe, being based of Hokkaido and having cozy jazzy tunes for towns and cities.

I played Sonic the Hedgehog for the first time of my life and i suck ass, but i like it.

Nice level design, very clever and fucking anoying enemy position, and cool soundtrack. In my Jiggly rank (from 0 to 9,1) Sonic is a 7,3 for now.

The adaptive triggers in Gran Turismo 7 are really, like really good. The vibration and haptics are also fantastic. Currently running an Integra Type R 98, my baby.

The sound engineering is also top tier, playing this game with headphones is a must.

Honestly the first game isn't very good to me. It falls apart in level design quite fast for me. 2 onward is a huge improvement. I could never get into the first game and found it so hard as a kid ontop of that. Maybe it was because it was the last of the Genesis sonic games I played? CD is my favorite of the 2D sonic because it really expands upon the gameplay naturally. Exploration is important because of the multiple endings. The levels are immaculate in that game really. Besides maybe the random bottomless pit in the final zone.

Still, sonic 1 isn't a horrible game and very much a beautiful prototype in my eyes.
