The Café -- General Off-Topic Chat (AKA: Let's Break The Ice)

I love it!

I'm not exactly a pacifist (hell, I'm armed ALL THE TIME), but yeah... Wouldn't start a war just for fireworks.
Wait, also you know to use weapons? Well, considering that you live in Argentina, I can understand that better. Are you a police, a militar or something?

You would absolutely be surprised who is actually older here and doesn't act like it.

Yes, but it was a jest -- there's no way that would have happened.
Really even if it could be done here. No point to it, Internet is literally FULL of 18+ sites and forums.
I kind of like the lack of it here, nice reprieve ya know.

Was thinking about this while musing about the wonderful "ram shortage" going around, so in Gibson's Neuromancer, there's a scene where Case is hysterical that he'll be killed if he doesn't come up with money for his dealer, so he "tries to fence a megabyte of hot ram"

More things change...

Someone pick for me, should I watch:

Pokémon Horizons
Black Rock Shooter
Ruroni Kenshin
Trigun Stargaze (not many episodes yet, still coming out weekly)
Fire Force
Chiansaw Man movie
Demon Slayer movie

Edit- Ya know, I guess it doesn't matter which one I start, because I plan to watch them all anyway. I'm just bad at picking stuff.

I'm really not one to post about serious stuff -- I enjoy being a happy-go-lucky goofball a hell of a lot more. But, sometimes, you just need to get stuff off your chest.

The last couple of days have been very rough around here and it's been because I have been told that around 75% of my income could disappear in the very near future. Naturally, that has sent us into a panic and we have been desperately trying to save up and/or slash costs as much as possible to create a sort of "safety net" that would allow us to keep going when that axe drops... But the cold, hard math has spoken and told us, in no uncertain terms, that we are not going to make it on savings and intelligent spending alone -- not in this economy, maybe not ever.

I have been trying to maximize my earnings however I can, but it's been more of a pyrrhic victory than anything else -- it's just not enough to absorb the damage. And while I'm okay RIGHT NOW, the moment my earnings start drying up would catapult us into the crisis point, no scales. And once that happens? I know that I'm gonna have to make some tough calls regarding how everything's going and I know one area that would be a prime candidate for "amputation" in order to stem the bleeding: internet/entertainment.

I'd absolutely HATE to part ways with the one thing keeping me sane, but if my choice really does boil down to either having fun or eating, then I guess I'll have fun eating. That's why I have barely been around these last couple of days and why I believe this is going to be an ongoing trend from now on, only broken up by the occasional status update or token post, because it'd absolutely kill me not to be here when we finally reach those million members.

Gah!

I think i will use two blank sheet of papers for the drawings more often, i usually go for many details.
I still make some mistakes while i'm drawing but i got a little better despite the time i was doing nothing.
The last i did post was very fun, but it should be explosive enough to destroy my dress ::peek

Honestly, Pokemon Horizons.
As someone who has seen both Black Rock shooter anime, I would recommend you watch the one from 2012 and not the newer one. Though feel free to do whatever.

Hang in there Waffles.
As stupid as it sounds, start by looking some sort of entertainment that doesn't require internet, or even any effort on your part at all. Watching the stars or walking around the neighborhood will do.

I usually skip ads but this one caught my eye. You don't see too many anime movies released in theatres in the USA, and I really want to go see this:

Have you guys ever heard about Aimo Koivunen? He was a WW2 Finnish soldier who accidentally swallowed his entire platoon's supply of army-issued meth, took off like a rocket on skies, "ate" two landmines, lost a foot, killed a wolverine with his compass (!), burned down a cabin because he was too high to light a fire on the proper fireplace, got trapped by falling debris from an explosion, "forgot" to eat or drink for a week, was found twice but abandoned because his rescuers got injured both times and had to evac, accidentally wandered into a Russian camp and blasted off like the fucking roadrunner, remembered to eat and drink and was found like 200 kilometers from the starting point of the whole thing.

He was 14 days on the run and lived til 1989.

What a legend.

Sounds like he played on hardcore

So nice to come home and find that your favorite movie of all time is on Tubi, with the proper English dubbing no less! Legend Of The 8 Samurai!
I love this film. I remember getting it in a bargain dvd two-pack at my local walgreens alongside the first Sonny Chiba Streetfighter movie and absolutely fell in love with it
