The 3x3 Thread

Well 100 if a stretch allot of them are like in the same series RE 1-3. Would be harder to make a top 100 with 1 game from each series. I could have done a 12x12 ie 144 games but top 100 is perfect but so many great games I did not add like Red alert 2, Super mario world, Smash bros brawl, Sims 3.

But I know this list may change the more games I play.
I see, still a great list though ::dkapproves

This is one I made some years ago for the most influential games in my life, not necessarily my favorites and not all retro. These are ones that I played the most and have the most memories of, or that got me to look into a genre that I became a big fan of. They're also in release order so it's kind of like a timeline of the touchstone moments of my gaming life.

KOTOR plays fine on steam vanilla but in 4:3. With a little bit of work you can mod widescreen and graphics mods if you desire. You can also play or emulate the switch port and that is widescreen with HD graphics by default.

KOTOR II was rushed out the door and had the second half of the game cut down. IIRC the content was left unfinished on the disc and modders restored it and released it as a steam workshop addon. The steam version is the only way to play the "full" game. This was never released for the switch version
You gotta try out KOTOR. I always say that I like the extended universe stuff more than the main movies. KOTOR is one of the best Star Wars stories I think. You only need base level understanding of Star Wars since KOTOR takes place years and years before the main movies, back when the original Jedi were still alive and operating.

KOTOR 1 has a mod I always use that adds some of the more polished cut content back into the game, but you don't need much for that, a widescreen patch exists but is weird to set up. KOTOR 2 has the cut content patch that restores the last half of the game that Obsidian never finished. Like the other guy said though it's easier to install since it's on the steam workshop. KOTOR 2 also has the same weird widescreen patch.

Okay, I'm sold. Seeing it pop up here so much convinced me to give it a try. I'll look into it, though I think I already have it on Steam.

Well nothing is stopping me. Okey so Here is what I would say my top 100 games and I love very one of them and I replayed all of them a few times and some of them I sunk 100s of hours in and still sink hours in to. And no they are not in a particular order

Damn, I didn't expect you to take it seriously, and with such an impressive list too! It's always nice to see Alice, Fallout, Blood, Company of Heroes, and the Killzone series get some love, as they rarely appear on these kinds of lists.

I also see you have KOTOR in there, I'll have to check that out, that's for sure.

Wohoa, game boy color DQ3 good choice

It's really something how a handheld port has so much more stuff and more complex graphics than the og PLUS animated battles

I've already posted this on other places, but since this is the epic official 3x3 topsters thread, I'll do it ooonce more 🤭
5x10 - 50 games I love. Only the first three games are in actual order, the rest are just simply 50 games I love for various reasons. Hopefully it's easy to read if you enlarge the image.
Ah, Kingdom Hearts 1. I was thinking about this one for mine too. I'm still stuck on 2 because I'm too stubborn to plug my PS5 back in but I don't think the rest of the series will hit that vibe. I enjoyed COM and 2 so far but they haven't hit like 1 did, one of the best Action RPG's I've played.

Yeah 1 has a special place in my heart since it was my first PS2 game. 2 is a much more interesting game mechanically, but I’m one of those who preferred the wonder and whimsy of the crossover aspect of KH, and I’m kind of bummed they moved further and further away from that.
It’s also like the one series I feel I ”grew out” of. At least a bit, even if I got back into it a little from everyone hyping the 3rd game. My brother worships them so I’ve stayed in the loop thanks to him.

But I don’t lament it, 1 is magical and you can play it without worrying about the sequels (it’s almost self-contained in a way).

San Andreas, Alpha Protocol, New Vegas, Deadly Premonition, Test Drive... A fantastic selection all around and a great surprise to see Black among them. I never understood the story, but it always felt like it was the least important aspect of the game.
The game was meant to be chaos lol, even shooting the wall is fun in that game

The graphics and sound are very impressive, I dare to say Black is one of the best looking PS2 games ever, the gameplay is solid too, the only drawback to me personally is how spongy the enemies are.

Haha 3x3 Eyes. One of he first game in every NES ROM collection!

GBC DQ3 was my first foray into JRPG and I was hooked. At one point I was playing that game with the GameBoy connected to a power outlet because I couldn't ask for more AA batteries lol
The SNES version is better I think, but the GBC port has some bonus content. Personally that's not very important to me because I consider that it's added after the fact and the original team didn't intend it as part of their vision.

My Top 25 games! They're more or less in order (left to right, top to bottom) though only the top 5 is set in stone. The rest could typically move up or down a slot depending on recency bias or what side of the bed I woke up on that day. I did set an arbitrary limit of one game per franchise here, otherwise FF7, MGS2 and Kingdom Hearts 1 would also potentially make appearances.

My top 100, coming in hot! There's a 100% chance I missed something and an equal chance that I'll regret a decision I made, but overall this feels right. One game per series (I did cheat a little) and I picked out games that I've beaten and/or know very well. Also, assume all the DLC and/or special editions for the games too. There were tons of games that I love but don't feel like I know them well enough or haven't beaten them yet, as well as some that were not considered because they were too flawed of a gem. Some didn't make it because I haven't played them in so long that I didn't feel right to include them.
