The 3x3 Thread

Oh man, favourites are impossible for me! My list definitely changes every couple weeks, but currently it might look something like this.
(Shining Force 3 is meant to represent all three scenarios as a whole btw)

Just looked at your list real quick and Stalker is a great one for sure, that would definitely make it onto a 4x4 for me.

There’s a thread for this but it’s been inactive for months.
Where? I searched for one and didn't find it. I guess it's up for the staff whether we can have a second one or not.

You can always make a 12x12 with 144 games ?

How's Arcanum? I saw it rank top 3 on RPG Codex's top 70 RPGs but I've read it's janky and buggy as hell. Is it worth trying despite the problems?

Based Resident Evil and Thief btw.

Don't you tempt me, I'm gonna be here all day ?

Arcanum is definitely jank as all hell!
There's a honestly pretty much mandatory fan patch out there ( https://terra-arcanum.com/drog/uap.html#download ), but even that doesn't fix all the issues, as is sadly par for the course with Troika Games.

I absolutely do think it's worth checking out though! Even beyond my personal nostalgia for it.
Mechanically it's interesting in that it's the rare semi-classic cRPG that actually tries to accommodate charisma and non-combat builds, but I think what makes it so appealing is a confluence of all sorts of elements that would take ages to explain - it's got immaculate vibes, is what I'm trying to say. ?

(I think this menu theme does a better job of selling what makes the game so special than I ever could)

SHoC's jankiness it's a massive turnoff for many people, the awful gunplay (which is particularly bad specifically at the beginning due the awfulness of the PMm) and the walls of text aren't for everyone, but if you manage to overlook those issues you'll find a game so unique that, 18 years later, still has no alternative. Not even the sequels reach the greatness of the first game.

I'll share just some of my favorite games. They're so many.View attachment 13364

I love these threads because I can discover new for me titles and try them out.
Fantastic selection of arcade racing games. If I were to make a bigger list, I would include several older Need For Speed games.

RE6 sticks like a sore thumb. My sister and I played it right after finishing RE5's co-op campaign and couldn't stand how devoid it seemed of the essence of RE. It felt like playing an interactive action movie.

Didn't want to go too hard on this. These are some of my all time favorites. These games are all stellar. And I kinda wanted to do one with some not so common picks as well because of course I'm crazy about like 90% of the common picks like Resi 4 or stuff as popular as that.

Some really good choices here. Mafia, Manhunt, Saints Row 2... Absolute gems.

I also liked Retro City Rampage DX but I've never managed to pass the Death Cam VHS part, it's truly unfortunate considering how close I am to the ending.

It's a bit confusing for me to use this one, so I made one with another app
For now I chose the handheld library because I even played some of those handheld ports more than on the main console…maybe I just love handhelds that much

Portable Third enjoyer, massive props. It was my first MH game, and one of my favorites.
