It must be from US MANGA CORPS, they focused on releasing OVAs and anime movies.

It was on open TV here in Brazil in the late 90's.

Man, you went for a classic.
A lot of people are unaware, or downplay the significance of how Anime got its foothold in the west through a wave of Ultraviolence OVA's, often verging on sexploitation throughout the late 80's and early 90's.
Before that it was "Japanimaton", or works localised into oblivion such as Robotech.

(Not hating on Robotech, it's good. But it was THREE different Anime series stitched together.
I will forever hate on Harmony Gold, its creator but that's a different rant.)

The anime community fought for almost four decades to get uncensored anime (And yes, Localisation is censorship) through fan sub communities, VHS trading and bootlegs releases until the scene gained enough notoriety that works began to be imported without harsh edits.

With the biggest stepping stone being clearly 18+ rated Anime that couldn't be localised into oblivion by the measure of having so much of its runtime being most definitely not safe for kids.
So they receiving... Awkward, totally amateur dubs that would eventually usher in the likes of ADV & Toonami by the year 2000.
The mainstream Anime boom.

Only for Crunchyroll & Funimation (now one in the same) to return to the practice of unchecked localisation come 2015 onwards.
Being faithful to a none-English script? Oh no, thats "problematic" it needs alternations before release. No longer with the goal of dumbing it down for children, but by & for politically obsessed progressive freaks.
Ironically the sort of people who if they saw MD Geist, would claim its abhorrent despite its importance in establishing the very industry they currently grift through.

Four decades of fighting for respect thrown away by racists who believe they have the right to alter a foreign authors work solely because it's not written in English.

I didn't know Chrono Trigger had an OVA. It's pretty good too. (The first half of the video is all the cutscenes from the game, the other half is the OVA)

Sanrio returned to their tv anime routes with this adorable magical girl series that's somehow more Mahou Shojo than the My Melody Series. its fun and cute but ends up feeling like a repeat of the My Melody Series but significantly watered down but ultimately enjoyable and a decent watch

Been watching YuYu Hakusho. Finished the Dark Tournament and started the next Arc.
Overall, I'm really disappointed. I had such rose tinted goggles for this anime and it actually kinda sucks. Togashi is such a hack.
I started reading the manga and I can only compliment his artistic skills from the early 90s.


I've been reading it as Gundam G-Cucks.

Manga always had a better flow of how the story went and that's with anything.

Just Finished Konosuba season 3 took me 6 month to finish 11 episodes ..... But man im so sick of does charter it´s the same stupid jokes, Same stupid charter that has not grown sense season 1 instead they become rather annoying and a drag.

Atm im also watching Sand land im on EP 9 and it has taken me 6 months as well to even get to EP9. Anime is not bad it´s just that the second story arc was boring as hell.

Then I also started to watch Remake our life! Im on EP 8 the anime started off good but now just starts to feel a pain in the ass to watch.

I've started watching a bit in the start of the year but I kinda lost motivation because there's a ton of fillers.

I may read the scans of the manga but since the story isn't done I'm annoyed to think to see a ton of episodes that surpasses One Piece's number...

the early filler is fun atleast! not sure about the later ones but i love the detco filler its still interesting!

Also call me weird but I do miss the grittier early episodes. They've tonned it down a lot in the later series.

Kinda like early Yugioh.

2010's Gosick it's good that's about it if your someone like me who sticks to his preferences this ones a short sweet appetizer and plate cleaner before going straight back to your brain rot of choice it's nothing amazing if your a seasoned anime watcher but if its one of your firsts i can see it tugging on your heart strings

Watched this one a couple months ago. Criminally underdiscussed. Truly fires on all cylinders, and ends exactly how you want it to. Also has one of the most beautiful women in animation history as its MC.

First, I am not one to usually watch rom-coms and stuff... But goddamn. Just ended up watching this in one sitting... AND OH MY GOD I LOVE IT
Please, please give this one a chance. It's probably the most CUTE AND BEAUTIFUL SHOW I'VE WATCHED IN A WHILE.

Plot is simple but nonetheless weird; as the title says, an old couple of a grandma and a grandpa suddenly become young again. I know, "what kinda stupid plot is that?" But trust me PLEASE TRUST ME when I say that it is just... beautiful. As every romcom, it has a lot of not-so-good jokes, but it definitely worth it for the character growth. AND GODDAMNIT IF IT MADE ME CRY LIKE A KID multiple times lmao (Title literally is "A Grandpa and Grandma turn young again" so it's easy to find)

So yeah, that's that lol
Besides that I've been watching Digimon Adventure because my bestie basically forced me to (?). Been enjoying though, Tentomon is the goat XD

Of course, you and I already touched on this a little bit, but I have to say, while my sister hated most isekai, we're all sort of really in love with the concept of a potential reincarnation. She would always joke to her partner that "when I'm out of here, I'm going to find you again, in another life. This isn't the first time we've been together, and you'd better bet your butt it won't be the last. You're not getting away from me that easily."
While this isn't strictly an isekai, it has a sort of similar vibe, where two people get even more time to be together, and that's amazing! Thank you so much! Gonna watch the heck out of this. (My partner says you're a weirdo. That's a complement. compliment? LANGUAGE, DARNIT.)


Let's see, for something I've watched recently...it was weird, and I think the random advertisements and stuff are awkward -- but Supercub was really nice. I think it's something about the freedom that the protagonist Koguma gets when she realizes she doesn't need to be shackled to where she lives -- that, with her cub, her life opens up, and she kind of tries to open up, too? She makes a lot of friends and stuff. A lot of people had problems with the show's ending monologue, but it was simply, and unfortunately because of the way Japanese society can be and feel at times, even for people who live there. /rant.

It's basically an anime detective show like Sherlock Holmes, with most episodes featuring one case, but with ゴスロリ/Gothic Lolita elements. It's a little more than that but that's the gist of it. It also has more macarons than your average detective anime. I love this anime, especially the op. Bones did a good job with this one. If you like this anime I also recommend the Gainax adaptation of Dantalian no Shoka.
