Done Spoiler Tags for Risqué Images

What do you think of adding spoiler tags to generally NSFW content?

There has been a gradually growing number of generally NSFW images that have been posted on profile walls and elsewhere in the last few months, and it was recently suggested by a number of Users that lewd or sexually explicit art and imagery be covered by spoiler tags to hide this type of content from Users who do not wish to see it.

RGT has a wide age demographic, and some of these images aren't suitable for younger audiences, and many other Users simply do not wish to see this kind of content when browsing the forums or recommending the site to others.

We have tried to be more relaxed about Rule #7. The general rule of thumb being "if you'd see it down at the beach, then it's fine". But of course, people will still try to push the envelope as to what they can get away with.
On the other hand, these images are often impressive displays or artistry and creativity, and they have their audience.

What are your feelings on the idea?

I have an idea, why don't we use this in a different way rather then going extreme with removing profile posts alltogether.

You alongside others mentioned profile post tags right? Art that potentially violates the rule must be tagged as 'NSFW'.

Users can then click this theorized option you and thumbsdown made to remove all posts as such whenever they want of their own choosing.

Users who violate the rules and do not tag their posts with such will receive the respective warnings and such as they usually would when affronting other kinds of rules on the forum.

There's a galaxy of difference between censorship and wanting you to exercise some damn class — you were clearly slandering a third party for seemingly no reason just a few posts back.

Ban all minors AND cordone off a nsfw section if absolutely neccesary but I'm with @DjQuick2008 . This shit is already getting out of hand. There's really no need for porn here.
We're here for games not to goon together, and it's an especially bad look if we are gonna both allow minors and risque shit

Sounds like a good idea to me - We already have the option in place to ignore posts from individuals, why not the option to ignore profile posts altogether?

Whilst this is something worth looking into, it has a slightly wider scope than that of this topic (all profile posts as opposed to just nsfw posts). Will try to maintain a more narrow focus for the time being. :]

Great idea. I wonder if there is a way to filter/hide posts by tag.

Personally, I think we should just spoiler tag nsfw images in our profile feed and we should only allow NSFW on the art dumping/work in progress thread of the art section. Just makes sense, and if people want to post nsfw they could just use DM's and invite each other like its always has been.

Art is subjective and many doodles people post are from reference and irl poses. So I think this is the best compromise, People shouldnt be issued a warning for posting senran kagura official art on their profile post or Stellar Blade. Then by definition we can't post art from Golden Axe cause a lady wears chainmail bikini armor.

Relegating it to dm's is even worse, now you've got kids and adults gooning in the shadows. On a personal level, I don't mind some tits and ass but don't see alot of value into turning this place into some gooning cesspit. There are better places to go, seperated from minors and detached from gaming. Official artwork should be fine, of course. But if I can see Chun-Li's labia in some random gooner fan art it's probably too far

I've been on this site since it publicly opened and I never seen people goon or DM'ing each other nsfw in a compacity that involves minors. Everyone here is very strict about DM'ing each other and would report it to the mods. If it DID happen the mods would remove the ability to DM years ago.

Brother this site has been like this since it opened. Don't like it, reddit is down the hall and too the left. People asked to make it 18+ on the front page but Spike said no.

I've been here since the beginning too m8. The risque shit has always been here and there, not spotlighted. Now it's becoming an outright feature.

Like with film, there are some films that are universal for all ages and others meant for an adult audience. Same is true for games and art. We're looking into a solution that makes it so that adult content is only available to adult audiences. And even then, rule #7 is relatively restrictive. So it's not like we're letting everything fly.

We're testing an age gate. People will have to manually confirm they're over 18. Please give us some time to test this feature.
