I'm only kinda joking, because a Sonic rhythm game would rule and having some reference to Underground in it would be fun

Aside from Spinball and Mean Bean Machine nothing referred to the cartoons.

There was one cancelled project with Sonic and Sally playable but wasn't a proper platformer. I can understand why it got canned.

Kinda weird to think about in hindsight, how there were hardly any games based off of the many cartoons that have come out. I guess they didn't want to take focus away from the games they did end up releasing?

Considering how Sega has separate the American lore to the Japanese one and how SatAM was the "Archieverse" for the comics I think they wanted to keep the games focused in a single storyline (like the Death Egg Saga with Sonic 2, 3 and &K) up until Adventure canned the American side of the lore in favour of the Japanese one (since I think the Chaos Emeralds were slightly differently done in the west). Sonic Underground had a different lore from SATAM as well so it would've been complicated to make things cohesive.

Spinball had Power Emeralds of the same shape and were 12 (I think) and the first Sonic Cartoon had 4 Emeralds with different functions for each.

Some people expected Forces to be closer to SatAM because of its premise.

PS: I do wish they had included more elements from the Sonic OVA because Black Eggman (aka Metal Robotnik) and the Dark Land are cool concepts. Thankfully SRB2 implemented them.
