PSP Rockman DASH English patch (because nobody else wants to do it I guess.)

Could probably ask Gemini on Twitter about it. They ported the qol improvements from the PSP ver to the PC ver awhile back

Oh awesome, I'll try reaching out and see if they can help me out. you mind sharing the handle?
I was told that they just injected the data from the PS1 version over to the JP PC version, and that it's very likely possible to do the same for the PSP version. I just have to figure out how to do that.

Im hyped !! Always wanna know whats different in the PSP port of it.

Played the PS1 version so much , i feel bad to take out the disc for the 500th playthrough . ::booshy
the PSP has the same content, but the controls are more similar to the N64 version. which are preferable for me

Hey, have you checked this tool to extract the texts from MegaMan Legends PSX?

I was thinking of doing this too, with a bit of my programming background, but my desire to play a game burns more than learning to translate one, so all the methods and measures I gathered to learn from are sitting unused in my PC and brain.

The tool I shared should be the first step for you, wish you all the best!

I have no programming experience (besides a bit of python) and I cannot understand Japanese, but I have DashEdit and UMDgen. I don't plan on translating the Japanese text, only replacing it with the English localization. Although I was told on Reddit that I may have to work some magic tricks in order to put the English text in because of something to do with fonts.

Good luck with that! It's been a thing I've wanted to see for years, the psp version of this game is very good and it's sad that there's no way to play it in english properly, excited to see where this does, it'll also give me an excuse to replay my favorite ps1 game ever

Yeah, that is true. It's the Variable Width Font that needs to be applied.

Maybe this video could be your next pointer (and other videos in Hilltop's channel):

It's going to be an arduous path, but if you're really going into it, I hope this helps!

EDIT: I forgot to mention, the PSP might not be as straightforward as the PC version, due to the added subtitles, but someone who made the previous version of the Spanish patch of MML PSX did meddle with the subtitles for the PSX version. Maybe you could reach them too.

EDIT 2: The tool's in Python, so if you do have an understanding of Python, it's pretty much straightforward. I would refer to other videos on how to create the insertion table, but DashEdit should be sufficient for most of the files.
