Mario Kart is not an unusual launch title, it's a consistently high sales series with tons of appeal with some entires such as 7 or 8 Deluxe releasing very close to launch on their platforms already.

Everything has an objective price, because it has to be made from scratch and that has a price. But it's ok, I think I failed to make myself understood :(

This could be it, then. Because companies are going to charge what they can get away with. But that isn't a Nintendo-specific problem, if you looked at the markup on basically anything you'd be shocked and it would seem like it could be lower. It's the lovely system that makes the world go 'round, sadly.

The only thing I'm glad for is multiplatform games potentially keeping themselves a bit lower end to accommodate the Switch 2 better, it gives lower end PCs and devices like the Steam Deck a good chance to keep getting big games in the coming years.

The problem is that multiplatform games usually never favour the weakest system, because devs try to push too much the game for it to compensate the quality loss for the powerful platforms that the game ends having lots of framerate issues (and now I can't imagine what would happen for games made with Unreal Engine 5 on Switch 2).

Of course, I like it, because I would prefer to play the game on a PS5 for example, but when you're on the weak platform's side it's a bummer. I buy everything for PS4 when a game is released for both Sony consoles because I want to give the minimum possible support for the crappy PS5, but sometimes the game runs poorly in PS4 and there is nothing that can be done because devs only release the game for it because they have +100m potential buyers. I only plan to play PS5 games when PS6 is released, so I give zero support on hardware for Sony, because they don't deserve my money for releasing an aberration and an enhanced aberration.

I finally won my first Knockout Tour rally! To say this mode is intense is an understatement and is the main appeal to playing this game over the previous MK versions. I'm glad Nintendo didn't just add 12 more racers and call it a day. This mode is fun as hell and makes it stand out from other racers.

I will continue to love and support downloading 20+ year old ROMS/ISO's as well as support legally paying for new games.

Your position is totally respectable, but I am really curious about one thing. As you're a human being, you have free will and capacity to reason beyond a machine. With that intelligence, could I ask you, is there any moment in your mind that you question why people gets mad at something you like? I mean, if many people complain about something, regardless of your liking, you don't give any importance? you don't start questioning why people is complaining, regardless if it makes sense or not for you? it's not like you are willing to change your mind because many people is complaining, it's more like "why so many people is complaining about something that seems to be right, is that thing really right or not?"

I question myself many things in life and I believe many people here do as well, because we are all human. We are not trying to convince anybody to swap sides, we just want people to think beyond and question everything in life :)

Are you making a generalized statement like that because you want to engage in discussion or are you just being disrespectful to other members here who are enjoying this new console? Im videogame software pirate by nature? and you're All Pirates too !, if you ever downloaded a Game from this site or web!
I smile because new handheld/console owners, whom buy overprized games gets angry at negative comments on this Piratesite?!
My justification for my addiction was in early videogaming evolution.
I always bought the new released consoles/handhelds at full prices and always bought new worthfull games at full prices.

But as always soon boredom kicks when present system and games gets outdated, no more worthfull games to pay for it.
When the any system gets hacked and pirated games available and possible, that lead to my addiiction today.
With later generations till PS4Pro and XboxOneX, I stopped buying any new gen consoles/handhelds hardwares till they can be hacked.
As with later and newest games/(consoles) are all crappy anyway, thats why RETRO Gaming is popular.
Nowadays its more the trill of hacking/modding any new/old system and collecting games.

So I will only buy a Switch2 when its get hacked!, so be it.

Yeah, you're right. I don't think it's worth engaging into this but I also would say that isn't a negative statement for me, it's what human beings and the brain does to protect itself from external harm. Now I am speaking generally, not about this specific topic.

By the way, I have another question, but as you didn't answer my previous ones I don't know if you will ever answer this one. When a game is released on Switch and Switch 2, but the latter is only a download code and the original Switch is the cart with a free upgrade to Switch 2, which game would you buy? and, how do you feel about it?

I think it all boils down to a profound lack of self awareness. Of all the safe spaces on the Internet to spread their love for Nintendo, they chose the very site the company would love to close.

Going from $200 to $450 with $70 and $80 games is a massive leap.

But when the original switch came out, it wasn't $200 and it still sold out. I have no investment in whether Switch 2 thrives or not, but let's not pretend like Nintendo came in low back in 2017?

Lot of improvements: better screen, better joy-cons, better memory and stuff like that, plus some new features.
BUT, looks like the battery isn't that good (again)...

Thats why the compromises between powerful portable hardware and batterylife.
Like other powerfull handhelds, Steamdesk/the PC clones handhelds, you only gets 1.30 - 2.15 hours gametime when play (max out) settings.

Better screen? that's not true. Switch uses OLED technology, which is better than the regular LCD screen in Switch 2. For the price of Switch 2, they had to include an OLED panel, but they didn't.
