AEW fairway to hell was entertaining an original idea at least. WWE continue to give me the meh factor not even watched backlash.
AEW Dynamite was really good last night. That's how I feel about WWE. Even though I grew up on WWF, today's product just doesn't resonate with me. I'll say this, I can't believe how well Danhausen's doing in WWE. I didn't really "get" the gimmick when he was in AEW, but I'm happy he's finding some success -- though I do think it has a shorter shelf life. I remember guys like Danhausen getting crap from WWE fans back in the day due to the gimmick and his small size, though, so it's funny to see them going crazy over him now. If Darby Allin left AEW and went to WWE, I'd expect the same kinda 180 from them.

All I know about Backlash is John Cena's weird tournament announcement that sounds like one of the oddest ideas in wrestling.

It’s hilarious because it sounded like a dumb idea when he said it and then the next day a report came out that they weren’t even sure how the tournament was going to work so now it’s a “work in progress”…..why announce it if you don’t even know how it’s going to be formatted or anything? I’m sure it “sounded good” in someone’s head then when it was said out loud they realized how stupid it is.

That's like WCW 2000 levels of incompetence, lol.

Monday Night Wars was a fun time to be a wrestling fan and nWo ruled until everyone except like 5 people were in it then yeah that last bit of WCW stretch…oof lmao

I watch a lot of wcw 1999 for some reason its my favourite year well until jarrett was considered a main eventer which is mind boggling

Well, shame on you.
Iyo vs Asuka is definitely a contender for match of the year.

Roman Regins vs Jacob Fatu – a very good match that really pushed Jacob despite the loss.

Miz & Kit Wilson vs Danhausen & Minihausen – more than just average comedy wrestling match. They were given a time to show something in ring, and they certainly did so, particularly Minihausen – also known as Mascarita Dorada, formerly El Torito in WWE.

Only Rollins vs Breakker didn’t quite deliver. It turned out to be a bit of a weekly tv match, and it was actually the first time I’d ever seen Rollins have such a mediocre fight with anyone.

In my opinion AEW has an advantage over WWE in that how they make extensive use of stipulations.
In WWE, particularly since the Triple H era, there haven’t been many matches with stipulations, even though such a match would fit perfectly into a feud. And even when there are any, we’re actually left with a limited choice: Street Fight, No DQ, Ladder Match etc.

Sure, Netflix won’t let them do everything and it’s still PG, but where in WWE have stipulations such as the standard Cage Match, Falls Count Anywhere, Last Man/Woman Standing, Championship Scramble, Iron Man/Woman Match, Tables Match, TLC Match, or I Quit Match?
NXT is currently taking more freedom in this area than the main roster.

They often struggle to turn real-life events into storylines either. Take Iyo vs Asuka, for example. Given that Asuka is taking an indefinite break, this would be the perfect context for an ‘I Quit’ match.
Or Lesnar vs Oba Femi – With two such dominant contenders, Last Man Standing or Falls Count Anywhere have been the ideal choice for Lesnar’s final match

I mean... I don't really watch anymore dude, so I won't know every little thing. Although I have heard about the Asuka match, as well as her apparently leaving WWE or retiring soon or something like that?

Asuka didn’t retire, the exact details have not been shared but it’s basically a mix of she has something personal back in Japan so she’s leaving for a while to take care of it and she’s “semi-retired” but as of now, she is not cut or left WWE for good in any way.

Ah... Gotcha. I was just going from memory of an article I admittedly skimmed through. Goes to show how much I care about WWE news these days, lol.

It was confusing at first cuz she was waving goodbye to the crowd and then other wrestlers were posting tributes and she had also posted a cryptic Instagram post prior to the event so it all was assumed she was leaving forever lol so it’s understandable putting it all together that the assumption was she retired lol

I grew up a wrestling fan early 90s, was a WCW fan all the way until the end, stopped watching for about a year then got into TNA from the get go then stopped watching early into the Hogan era. Since then I haven't really followed it much but when I do check in I find modern wrestling embarrassing. Highspot after highspot, false finish after false finish, just a real mess.

TNA used to be great, this was back with AJ Styles, Abyss, the Beautiful People, Sting, Christian, Samoa Joe, etc.

Since then…yikes. Wrestling in general is not as great as it used to be but I just can’t tolerate TNA, it’s become so, so bad….

2010-2014 TNA is rewatchable

A very cena thing, retiring just to be an oddball, I’m anticipating he’ll have a rock-like legacy where once the high wears off, most folks will begin to see through the cracks and think he’s just really weird

These are easily some of the best wrestling channels
So what do you guys think of Mason Rook lol?

The guy can move but his look….it’s awful lol
Mixed feelings, hard to tell if he’s taking it seriously, he has the vibe of an actor who accidentally wandered into a set

When they made the comment “is that a fan??” that about summed it up for me lmao, he has an awful look and the “if you didn’t know, now you know” line was horribly dropped.

I don’t mind the bloodline but yeah we’ve been there before, they don’t have any new ideas lol
