I'll be honest, I'm one of those people who often complains that they're too long, but they still put on the best PPV's -- it's not even a competition. They're usually 5-6 hours including the preshow. I think they should be 3-4 hours. I'm probably in the minority, though.

While it'll never be as good as it was during the peak of the Attitude Era and Monday Night Wars, I still get enjoyment out of AEW on most weeks.

I get it though, don’t get me wrong, that’s a lot of time to take from someone’s day and they run late, I just personally enjoy it. WWE does good lengths but yeah, lazy events lol and that makes me sad to say cuz I grew up on WWF, the golden era will always be the best to me and they’ll always be #1 in my heart but there is no hiding how bad the product has become. Been through bad times before but the addition of TKO and Triple H’s booking just makes it evident there’s no end to it this time. I hope I’m wrong.

Too much flippy dippy shit in modern day wrestling, it is all highspots with no character, 50 false finishers in every match. AEW is just PWG with a bigger budget and WWE is a shell of what it once was with their 65 championship belts why should anyone care about a title match build up.

If we're talking characters like Undertaker, Kane and Mankind, I would agree. But while Stone Cold and The Rock had personality, they were just dudes. Same with Triple H, etc. I used to enjoy WWF's midcard back in the day when you had the pimp (The Godfather), the adult film star (Val Venis), the vampires (The Brood), etc. Those were characters. I just don't know if people would buy into those kinda gimmicks nowadays.

Well Punk had already quit lets be honest but could only get out of the contract fairly by being sacked. Punk has always been a dick and still is. Triple H would never have been in this spot ever without marrying the bosses daughter,

Double Or Nothing 2026 was my favorite show of the year. All of the big marquee matches delivered, it was a lively sold out crowd, and the Louis Armstrong Stadium is an amazing venue for wrestling (I prefer it over Arthur Ashe). I also think having the MJF/Mick Foley promo on the Buy In pre-show was smart business since it definitely got people excited for the main event.

While I loved that match, Double or Nothing 2026 was way more successful than that show considering it was their second biggest gate after All In Texas. I also think they have more star power now than they did back then. They had a lot of jabronis back in their early days like Joey Janela and Jimmy Havoc. They signed a bunch of people because they needed to pad out the roster. That's not the case anymore.

TNA aren't in the mix seen as they are WWE's bum boys these days, NJPW is and only ever will be big in Japan and what saddo wants to watch 20 hours of a Wrestlemania weekend (no idea why PPVs have to be so long these days). As someone who was a WCW fan (and an early TNA fan) I wanted AEW to fill the MASSIVE gap left from 2001 when pro wrestling died but they didn't do what they said on the tin, instead just became PWG with a big budget, highspots wrestling. I think even Cody Rhodes figured that out, not that I am a fan of that overrated guy who used indie fans and indie wrestling while bad mouthing WWE to get himself over from being that WWE mid carder with the chicken legs and no kneepads. I wanted AEW to succeed but like all of modern pro wrestling I am just bored whenever I see any clips online.
I don't think signing Mick Foley is going to bring anything to the table, I don't think he is star power anymore and just like Ric Flair he belongs no where near a ring because it is sad to see at this point so what is he going to do in AEW? Redo his successful commissioner role from WWF? Maybe but that will get old quick. The problem is with star power in modern day wrestling, there just isn't any and that isn't all AEW's fault because they are a relative newcomer, it is the fault of WWE for sure. Put the competition out of business in WCW, buy up the alternative promotion in ECW and then wait for too long to start bringing up new wrestlers. AEW have signed a lot of big names from WWE however they are guys at the back end of their career, true Christian has never been booked correctly as a single wrestler by WWE like he was in TNA or is in AEW but he isn't the future of the business and they guys that are the future don't have shoulders big enough to carry the future.

I get wanting to use your own talent to get the company over, early TNA was full of ex WCW, ECW and WWE guys but it was the guys in from the indies that got people talking and got eyes on the product. The problem is far too many wrestlers have the exact same movesets, a flip here, a flip there, a superkick here, a superkick there, when you are watching a three hour show of the same kinds of matches (even with the women these days) it gets tiring fast.
I have never been a WWF/E fan, sure I watched the product during the 90s but into 2000 but WCW was always my thing, even in 2000 when Vince Russo came in and pushed the young guys (something he never gets credit for because WCW went under less than a year later), I want AEW to be a success because anyone who was alive back then knows that when WCW got put out of business by Vince McMahon buying that company and of course signing ECW's biggest talents and later claiming to have financially supported that company killed the business it really did.
TNA helped to get people interested again and made wrestling "cool again" without question but then 2010 happened and killed everything that the company have been doing in the 8 years previously.
