There are no giveaways on an average raw or smackdown now hardly. I was watching some AEW in 2022 which was probably their best year.

The Wrestlemania XX version of the Rock feels really obscure these days. With the short black hair and the goatee.
I feel like you never see that version of him in any games, barring custom/modded creations.

Revolution 2020 was a pretty good show all around, if I remember correctly.

Yeah, it was a pretty solid show over all. The tag match between the Young Bucks and Hangman/Omega got EXTREME amounts of praise (some calling it the greatest tag match ever), but the whole show delivered from what I recall.
 
I didn't even know that MJF was back at AEW, I thought he was going to WWE. 🤔
 
There have been rumors of MJF going to WWE for ages. He's even turned it into a kayfabe thing that he references in his promos.

I know a lot of people love all that shoot stuff, but I think it takes away from my enjoyment most of the time. Makes it harder to buy into stories & characters the more they wink and nod about behind the scenes stuff.

Yeah, MJF comes from the CM Punk school of doing promos where he thinks it's cool to do that sort of thing. MJF also loves shock value so he'll say whatever gets a reaction whether it's shoot comments or just saying something vile like bringing up a wrestler's dead brother.

Chris Jericho also occasionally uses pro wrestling lingo in his promos like "babyface" and "heel". I am a HUGE Chris Jericho fan but I hate when he does that.

I believe so far he’s the biggest name that hasn’t gotten there yet. Probably out of sheer persistence or plain ol bad luck. I think he works better as an out-of-wwe hotshot because he’d have more freedom but I can see current wwe a little merciful to him (that is before gets sentenced into Rollins mixed tag match purgatory)

Wholeheartedly agreed. It’s one his one weakness thus far which is endlessly ironic given he was known for the total opposite.

The irony here comes from the fact that a lot of popular shoot promos you find on YT are work-shoots, including punk’s very own. MJF and his likes technically fall into this as well but they lean a little too hard into the shoot and don’t know how to spread it out. The beauty of these is that they happened once a millennium, and not thrice a week.
 
Oh and workshoots also typically call out backstage politicking and are worked into a storyline rather than being an off-hand small man syndrome remark that goes nowhere.

Duuuuuuuuude same same. Raw and SD air at 3 am where I’m at. It’s a pretty unwatchable time.
