She definitely seems to have kept active. I'd wager she was probably getting ready for a little while before she came back for that recent tag match.

Even in late 30s it can still be wary to hide aging. Depends on genetics, methinks.

Yeah it fits that AJ is Vegeta's sister.

obviously, she was keeping up herself in shape, all this time, you can't have a toned body like that, in that age, without exercising often, be on diet, etc

plus, genetics play role, and helps even more, if you dont drink or, smoke weed, night partying all the time, etc and instead, you learn to treat urself, better, by discipline yourself

thats how you going to remain in shape

Chuck Norris is lucky it's a work, Double J would've stretched him in a shoot
Chuck Norris and wrestling is an oddly rare combo. Then again, weirder things happened, like Mr. T in WWF, Robocop in WCW or…. Whichever celeb was in TNA, I forgot.

USA was airing Walker: Texas Ranger at the time, is why I think he was there? They did a similar thing with William Shatner around that time too, and iirc Shatner monkeyflipped The Roadie or something, haha

Pretty sure the last thing I watched before they axed the WWE Network in my country was that Robocop WCW show :loldog

WWE has canonically had zombies, The Muppets, whatever the hell Kane and The Undertaker are, a superhero, and...Bray Wyatt.

Also, AEW canonically shares a universe with the Karate Kid franchise where Britt Baker has been trained in Cobra Kai by Kreese

yeah
Also wcw on baywatch was all kinds of bizarre
Technically Kurt Angle on ECW was sooorta a “celeb” cameo cuz that was prior to him becoming a wrestler so he came in as a gold medalist which is neat… then he dropped out the next night cuz of the crucifixion angle

I think Undertaker was meant to be a zombie, until he wasnt. And then until he was again. Bray Wyatt's character was a guy talking nonsense. Not what he intended, of course, but that's what WWE kinda made him::sadkirby

I don't really know many modern celebrities, so I couldn't tell you what AEW have done ::cirnoshrug

Miz was eaten by zombies at some show with a dumbass zombie match. I don't know what they did with him after that, but I would've loved to see Zombie Miz going around trying to find a cure as he gets progressively worse, then they write him off TV with a casket match or something. Then when he comes back, the cure for being a zombie is vacation with Maryse.

I think Asuka is actually a Japanese yokai, Kairi is a "Pirate Princess". Don't even get me started on Lucha Underground. Pro wrestling is wild

I thought Kairi was a "yacht enthusiast" or whatever Cole used to call her on commentary :loldog

That one left a super bad taste in my mouth. Miz prides himself in being one of the safest workers (a feat which he has every right to brag about, given the current injury economy, early deaths, etc) yet this was his first and only injury (his concussion at WM27 notwithstanding). It sucks he got injured at such a poor quality match. Oh well.

There was some wild stuff in Japan, too. Like, Hakushi died and then came back, so they had Undertaker come and beat him in a match to put his soul at rest once and for all.

Or that wrestling title that was cursed and you took damage every time you lost, so a guy died and was repackaged as a ghost? Or something like that????

The Ironman Heavymetalweight title is maybe the weirdest thing Japan has going on? Big claim, I know ::nervous-prinny

Japan is the defacto for absolutely wild wrestling lore. Both the goofy and morbid. I dunno what to pick so I’ll recount a few ones off the top of my head.
  • Sabu and the Original Shake (at age 70, no less) wrestling in a death match where the ring was on actual fire and not the fake fire wwe uses
  • Vader, quite literally, pulling his eye out by accident and pulling it back in. Yuck.
  • A shoot fight happening in a fairly obscure match that resulted in the guy being blacklisted.
  • Tiger Mask. Literally just tiger mask. He’s not a wrestler, he’s a manga character that later got adopted by various wrestlers, having a legacy in two mediums (and inspiring the likes of King from tekken, so he’s technically a legend in video games just indirectly)
  • Rikishi (supposedly) not doing well in Japan despite “gaijin fighters” being really popular.
  • Jushin Thunder Ligre, the man is everywhere, even in pro wrestling guerrilla, especially at that one match where there was a train of wrestlers poking each other’s butts
  • Bathhouse death match.

I remember a piranha tank death match, and a grocery store death match. The grocery store one stands out in my mind because one guy threw a cocktail table arcade machine at a guy at some point.

I remember seeing Kota Ibushi wrestle in an apartment building once, like it was a towers mode in a fighting game. He would progress to another floor with each person he beat. It was weird ::cirnoshrug

Tuned into this weeks AEW dynamite something to watch while i wait on deliveries this morning. Renewed netflix only because crown jewel hits at 12pm in the uk on that saturday so it suits me as im cleaning this weekend and that'll be my quiet weekend for sport. I hear raw will also be like a 12pm start on the monday so that'll be unique. 8am for US fans.

Yes different timezones means I could actually watch the Saudi events. I could probably attend them too but circumstance says no and I’m not invested in wrestling that badly anyways.

Can see EA sports getting the WWE gaming contract soon to be honest.
Yeah, if EA are partly owned by the Saudi government now, I can see the WWE games going to EA and becoming A LOT worse. Not that they're super great now. They are fine. But I feel like they will only go down in quality
