PlayStation Adds Ability to Terminate Your PS5 Account and All Your Games Over Inactivity

yeah Ive never payed for Sony's online services... I did pay for XBox Live for a few years from like 2009 to around 2013 and never paid for that stuff again
I also never gave a dime to Sony for that Psn shit which was free on Ps3 and when they tried charging us for the previously free service I was like screw them.

Dang sorry to hear this Man if my gaming collection would burn down I would lose my mind nevermind that I could not even afford re buying them.

I also do not buy Games that often since I a more on the poorer side so its either on Christmas or Birthday or well a absolute steal like some 360 games that I would buy a game.
yeah thats generally how I got mine.. my 360 collection is fine cuz I bought that stuff later.. I have a massive 360 collection

I hope the golden age for 360 collecting stays up longer as long as it can,not everything needs to get ruined by scalpers greed and inflation after all.

dude, even in the Army we were super nerds.
Nothing wrong with that, but I don't expect everyone to be super nerds. Even back when I was a little kid.
, but normies just buy whatever newest thing is
So do many nerds and super nerds. Not much of a difference. The term "normies" has changed constantly and rapidly in the gaming sector, more than any media on Earth. First it meant gamers who liked realistic sports games or "jocks". Or games that weren't always rooted in "nerd medieval fantasy" nor anime (varied from time to time). Then it went to casual gamers. When in reality, all hardcore gamer originally meant was someone who loves and plays games of nearly every genre, and 100% completes them. Not this whole: "hardcore gamers like only many things and things with tits, blood, and gore". Which is something the AAA industry used as manipulation tactics, twisting the term. Now, "normies" just means anyone different, or play games that don't appeal to me. It's a load of bullshit, and petty human tribalism seeking to divide others, because otherwise, they don't feel special nor unique. Punk ass bitches.

yeah I lost my old stuff in a house fire years ago, but still have my PS2, Xbox, Xbox One.. and games going pack to the genesis.. I kept my copy of Shadowrun and thunder force 3 and 4 on Genesis, Parasite Eve, Legend of Dragoon, Lunar 1 and 2, and Wild ARMS 2 on psx.. Xenosaga 1 and 2 (not 3), and Wild ARMS 3 and a few others.. until now.. no, its only cuz I let a friend borrow them when the fire happened... same thing with my original record collection, I only have what I lent out and what Ive re bought since.. Im talking hundreds of LPs and games gone... which is why I cant trust Sony or any other bitch
Sorry that happened to you. At leas you got/kept copies of certain games.

no, I would argue normies are the people who just show up cuz its "current thing" or only buy products cuz everyone around them does, like COD, Madden, FIFA, GTA... yes, I want to gatekeep them.. well.. no I dont.. I know the AAA industry doesnt make games for me, but Im terrified of them coming for the things I love and... making them shit.. like they always do.. Its hard enough teaching my lil girl what good art is vs bad art but if they take the stuff we love and destroy it... I cant deal with that

Congratulations to the imbecile who came up with this idea....

I use the word Normie for people with zero interest in Nerd culture like gaming those that would look at us weird for playing Video Games as grown up man.

A Normie is someone who would throw out and trash a arcade machine since its useless piece of junk for them.

Its not meant to exclude or discriminate since its a choice engage or not engage with the Medium.
They call us losers and Manchildren for fucks sake we can call the normies in return which is by far less harsh.

So? People like that already existed long before COD, Madden, FIFA, or GTA. There are or were plenty of people I met in life who bought games off popularity and nothing else. Sonic, Mario, Golden Eye, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, NFL Blitz, Resident Evil, etc. I can go all day. Your definition does not change the fact, many people have used normies just to shut out and look down upon others to feel special, or took offense to anyone outside of their special little club, or doesn't look like nor act like them.

No, that would just be a shallow asshole and philistine who doesn't hold value in art to any copacity or looks down upon it.

Most people don't find gaming weird, or are adults themselves. The ones who look down upon gaming nowadays are mostly old men and women, who viewed the genre with contempt or chose not to open up their world view. Being interested or not in nerd culture doesn't make a person inherently better than the other. That applies to me too.

I've dealt with my share assholes, but using normies while less harsh by the ever minuscule comparison, really does not say much and is still a form of looking down on someone for not being X or not interested in X. Nothing more than an unnecessary division, but with a grudge, built up resentment or using on others who weren't even born at the time, or have different interests.

I was never called a manchild, but I remember a few butt fucks called me a slur against those who are gay/homosexual, just because I like Sonic and Viewtiful Joe. I was 17 at the time, but they got their asses handed to them by my older brother. I didn't need him to do that, but it shows my big bro and I always have to look out for each other. And those fools knew how to keep their mouths shut after that.

what even are the benefits of doing this? save space in the data centers? maybe if they didn't give up on physical games they wouldn't have to

Normi is just the politically correct and less offensive version of a different word.

Which by historically isn't even meant to be either negative or possitive, it's always been used in a matter-of-fact kind of way.

Like, [normal people] are typically viewed as shallow and only interact with the world on a surface level, unable to engage in a deeper more meaningful way, hence the perception that they only flock to trends and popularity.

But on the other side of the coin, they are also to be envied for that same assumed perceived simplicity, and that at the end of the day.
It would be perferable to be a [normal person] because they can fit into society and actually be happy about it.

This doesn't sound right. Sony said it was a "consumer shift" to digital-only that made them have to comply with their customers' demand that they don't own their games
Maybe they misconstrued PC gamer's joy over Steam sales to mean customer's just want digital. Or maybe they just asked an AI

There are normal people with depth to them, or look more at something than surface level. It's just a matter of other making too many assumptions, underestimating them, or not knowing the person all that well in the first place.

It's a nebulous term, for one thing it undermines individuality, but like I said, it's historically been used in a matter-of-fact kind of way that isn't meant to be possitive or negative.

But what I have noticed is the irony of people that would 100% fit the bill, use this exact same word like an insult while being oblivious to the fact that the same can be said for them.
