You pretty much hit the nail on the head of why the other adaptions didn't do it for me. They were just making another version of the two animated movies. As a fan of the OG dub on vhs back in the day and that exact same cast did the absolutely stellar ps1 game. I am wishing Mimi Woods could play the major in this again. She retired from voice acting as far as I am aware and Mary Elisabeth McGlynn's voice is a little on the huskier side, whereas Mimi Woods has a slightly nasally voice which I preferred and she's the OG English MajorJust from the trailers, this really does look like a late 80s, maybe early 90s anime that's been cleaned up and upscaled to HD.
And I'm loving each new trailer, and yeah, it does look like the manga come to life, so to speak. As long as the sub and dub are handled right... and they most likely will be, with an IP as big as GITS, this should be really good.
Aside from that abortion of a movie that had Scarlett as the Major, I think this will be really good.
