Mega Man Megathread

Now you made me want a series like Pluto for megaman....... damn.
You mean Urasawa's Pluto?

I don't think Megaman needs to have a Seinen-like mature story but I can see something about a villain being more complex than Willy or Sigma.

I've always wondered why they didn't evoke the idea of reploids/robots wanting to be treated like actual beings and showing that some humans can also be evil like Willy but against the robots.

They did that in megaman Zero with Dr.Weil. You know, the guy that caused more damage than Sigma even if he wasnt really there

Hell, the Zero saga is the one that ends up giving us why the whole humans and reploids relationship was a mess

You know something is wrong when even Zero, the mission only guy, calls the humans hypocrites after an event in the last game

They kinda did, see the repliforce whole incident

This makes me wanna do it even more than either Classic or X now.

I'll still have to do them because they're iconic but I'll keep that in mind.

The funny thing is, all the problems in the series started (and ended, thanks to Capcom) with Dr.Light hope for humans and robots to live in peace

Something that was a thing only in a short time. Then stuff got serious later on

The Zero saga was a fine nail in his coffin with the elf wars and that space laser at the end of Zero 4 (it did absolutly nothing to Weil, but really did a good one to the humans)

Meanwhile, Dr.Wily only failed to rule the world. But when you keep in mind his other dream.... yeah, Zero did it

Mega Man timeline must be abolished.
I think they should be taken more like the Zelda timeline:

Not something to be roughly followed but more like an indicative thing. This is why we see holograms of Dr. Light in X because it's set much, much later than the Classic series.

That reminds me of how Metroid also used the same scheme.

We have two timelines so far: the "robot" timeline (Classic to Legends) and the "net" timeline (BN and SF)

Both timelines ended with a big "?" thanks to a game(s) getting nuked (SF ended in a good ending, but there was plans for another one)

Thats it, if we only count games

Well this looks good 👀

Dr. Wily really would've been better if he was given more recognition, hell, 11 did really shine a different light on his side of things, showing that he had the potential, but not the right focus.

He would've been better if he weren't such a jealous little bitch.

This is why people should never ignore the "genius" part of "mad genius". I like how it shows some flashback about how it was when they were still associates.

It may sound edgy but I kinda wish to see a Megaman game (probably set in an alternative timeline that isn't the canonical one) where robots went into war against humans to get their freedom but after generations they ended up controlling them and their last hope is that Megaman, a robot that has a sense of justice regardless if the person is made of meat or metal, could bring them freedom and help making peace between them and robots.

Then again I've just described the plot of Astro Boy the Omega Factor on the GBA.

The Elf Wars WAS that at one point, at least to the public. Is just that the ones that where close to the real deal didnt know that Weil wanted something worse in the end (to be fair, X and Zero where more worried about Omega)

About Wily, i found it funny how Lan managed to do something that everyone in the main timeline failed

Make Wily become good for real. And he did a lot for the remain of his life after that
