joked in the 90's in Vegas' best arcade "Mary K's" that my band was gonna do a medley cover called... wut else - Megaman Megamix. this never materialized and I conceded that the only vidgame cover we'd done so far was the SoR1 theme. sadly that remained the truth as artistic ambition gave way to reckless partying BS. oh well - you live, you learn. you die, someone else learns. with numerous exceptions ofc =P

n ok, I'm gonna talk about games that ape off (mostly but to their credit - often with notable twists) Mega Man's expected template in general. Gravity Circuit, Beast Boy, Virtua Unlimited Project - this is a just a 'bad precedent - incoming!' nitpick directed at these very compelling, high-quality 2D (or 2.5D) neoretro successors of Rockman's classic exploits, but... I'm not quite sure why so many developers are 'outta ideas' other than the whole 'let's play it safe n let business destroy art per usual! hooray! autopilot money that I can spend on other shit that's equally out of refreshing ideas!'.... it's just... disappointing that innovation (usually with glaring flaws but spoiled gamers seem to think phenomenal flukes grow on trees...)... is barely seeping through in a landscape that was once plentiful in its promise (admittedly in the dark ages many believed that anything was possible n nowadays the Earth is on a virtual house-arrest with diminishing returns go hand-in-hand in with self-fulfilling prophecies n the planet should probably be renamed '...Whoops!' but that's a discussion for another time. if time even exists) ... too many parenthetical asides in my posts but hopefully this conveys my concern for human ambition in general

...and too many Mega Mans & Mega Man offspring tryin to recreate the highway opening stage of OG Mega Man X! just stop it! drink a cuppa joe n go back to the drawing board, guys! the jig is up (well I mean it has to be cuz no one says 'the jig is down!' o_O)

It's pretty good, X5, X6 and X8 run well from what I've seen (haven't tried X7 because I don't really care)

as I am tryin to tackle the Legacy Collections mostly in order, I do not have an in-depth answer to account for any issues that may or may not arise, but seems fine - X5-through-X8... options for Rookie Hunter mode or Challenge Missions for each game.... sometimes a game will come along here n there that has issues with Win11 (don't we all...) - but this runs fine for me. seemingly so far/so good. sorry I cannot yet account for possible problems that would come up while truckin through them.

Hey gorse. Sorry for not getting back at you sooner. Unstable internet + low charge and tons of circumstances haha but I will get to you before I lose my chance (why do I sound like I’m hunting you down??), anyhoos, as one of the two resident Megaman experts (the other being @fake ofc), I can reassure you the collection is fine. Performance wise a little better. XL1 had input latency issues but i don’t think the same exists for XL2 due to being PlayStation games. The only issue is that you’ll have to make do with a terrible acyrnum that makes it sound like you’re talking about a burger but besides that you’re good!
