Is PS5 worth buying?

I have the PS5 Pro and the only way I'd recommend a PS5 of any kind to anybody is if they don't own a PS4. It's worth it to play PS4 and PS5 games, but there's not many games exclusive to PS5. This generation's been pretty underwhelming across the board. I wish more devs would use CryEngine and idTech instead of UE5. Indiana Jones and KCD2 look better and run better than most UE5 games I've played. Indiana Jones looking great while having large environments, having ray-tracing, and running at 60FPS on a Series X impressed me. You won't get that with a UE5 game.

DualSense is really really good and just got the Pulse Elite headset. Superb headset for the price.

Cool. I'm waiting for GTA 6 to come out.

If you have a beefy pc, no. All the best games are released on Steam/GOG as well.

Always this question Well, the PS5 is now a gaming PC itself and if you add the disc drive then the device is even better and you can use the PS5 for other things besides playing games. I also watch TV with it this works really well. OK to the question of whether a PS5 is worth it, for me it was worth it even if it is a bit overpriced. I saved money every month and bought the PS5 pro.

Absolutely not, Sony is not worth supporting and there aren't enough exclusives to make it a worthy purchase, consoles in general outside of Nintendo are on the way out and the bloated development of AAA slop has totally decimated the industry.

Generally speaking, consoles suck now, the pc has all the games that the xbox and ps5 get these days and you can run emulation on pc, you can't on consoles.

Nintendo switch 2 doesn't, but that's less than 5 games, if even that, which are exclusive to the switch.

What this means is, no, especially at the price now, ps5 is not worth it, a steam deck, while weaker graphics, is cheaper and has a much bigger library, though a gaming pc is the best.

If you MUST pick a console, pick a older console (before ps5), you'll find more enjoyment for less money.

i mean i agree, ps5 cost over 2000 SAR and not gonna lie i do own like xbox one, ps4, nintendo switch 1 and a pc (thinkpad) but trust me i don't have games in them and since microsoft made gamepass cost 50 to 80 SAR i thought that i'd switch my old xbox with either the new xbox or the ps5

To come back to this thread, while I still think it depends on what you want to do with the console, I'm still just fine using it as a PS4 Pro Pro because my PS4 game backlog is still immense, I find the question just kind of a weird one to ask in such a piracy focused site. I imagine most people that come here, you know for free games, are not gonna be interested in the device that costs like $500 and has games that cost $60-$70 on release.

Yeah pretty much how i feel, ps4 pro or just go retro with a ps3, 2 etc.
The ps5 is really a pointless console.

The Ps5 has a point though as in it points out what not to do with a Console

And to be Honest I am more than happy with me Ps3 and Ps4 I don't even have a Pro sadly yet I prefer that over the sorry excuse of a Console the Ps5 is

It's honestly kind of sad what's happened to the console market, it used to be console was what you bought when you didn't want to spend 1k on a pc, now you can still get a fairly good pc around 1k that would curbstomp a console, yet consoles are closing that price gap fast.

Yes, pc gaming has gotten more expensive (on the hardware front at least) but it's not nearly as excessive as it has been with consoles as of late once you add in the "hidden costs" that come with consoles.

If you want retrocompatibility with a PS4 and the few console exclusives (not only stuff like Demon Souls, but games that just won't be released on PC almost on purpose and they're only on Xbox or Switch), then: sure.
Otherwise just stick with a PC gaming. I'm trying to justifying myself of why keeping it, but the more I play with the PC I got the less I felt motivated to keep it.

I'd say no. For the price of consoles, you could buy a mini PC with an AMD apu that gets you into a better ecosystem with more games.

Valve might also make a custom game console with it's Fremont APU, so even then you might be better off waiting for a discount or better option than the PS5.

I feel like that the only game I'm keeping this console for is Insomniac's Wolverine. Beside justifying the physical copies for collectionism, I have little other reasons and I barely play it. I still have the other half of VII Rebirth to keep going.

You know i know i've already said the ps5 isn't worth geting here, but this should probably be a good analogue of why i say the ps5 isn't worth getting.

The sega 32x has more exclusive good games than the ps5, yes, the badly regarded 32x is a better buy than the ps5 imo.
