Is PS5 worth buying?

Worth it, since not all PS5 games playable on PS4 or got PS4 version unless you don't care and want to play PS4 only games that's why I own those two console & off coz' I own pc gaming too so I don't need that "X" thing or "N" too ::irock

Not really. I bought a used one last year, mostly just to play the PS4 stuff I have on a faster device. The only PS5 games I generally play are Honkai Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero, which I could just play on my PC. I am going to get Monster Hunter Wilds on PS5 since my PC would struggle to handle it even on low settings. As far as exclusives, most of them are remasters of PS5 games, and most of them are also making their way to PC within two years. I dislike the direction Sony has been taking things, but there is still convenience being able to boot up a console and play a game quickly. They are very, very slowly adding PS1 classics to the system, and if you bought a version of a classic on PS3 it generally seems to be free on PS4/5, which is nice. The PS5 Pro is dogwater though, especially costing 700 USD and not including a disc drive or even a stand. Maybe the PS6 generation will be more fruitful, but I can't imagine myself caring at all. The PS5/Series X generation got us to consoles with fast SSDs and limited to good backwards compatibility, plus in Xbox's case offering better framerates and resolution for some of the BC games. It's pretty nice, but I can't imagine the next console generation offering anything really extra other than better graphics, and I guess 8K resolution, maybe.

Also the controller is pretty nice and has a good weight to it. I suppose that's worth something.

nope, here's why

- the 8k Resolution is hoax : well, it does on only certain puny little game
- Most of the games are ps4 vibes they just add the raytracing feature
- Just wait a few year and you get the PC version which you can adjust the resolution up to your graphics card couldhandle
- you must paid subscription to play multiplayer games
- You can't mod your game
- with addition $700 you could get neat graphics card for your PC

For the money, you could build a PC that could be used for more then games.

If you must buy it, do not get it new or pay full price.

I got it on release and i have regretted it since, as there are no real exclusives.

Remember folks, "get used to not owning your games", there for they want to be steam, so why support the hardware if they are going streaming / digital games only anyways?

Where is the value in buying consoles now and in the future without physical media? Seriously, do a cost benefit analysis, you will see what i mean.

Sony just announced they would be ending production of blue ray disks only last week if i am not mistaken, so digital only, lack of competition on their market place, with the games often being a lot more expensive for no reason. Heck, look at PSN for the cost of Sekiro, how old is that game again?

We are heading in to a hell scrape of the media companies own making, which started out in the general media, with manga / anime workers requiring to become their own company to work under a new contracting / finance system which is only helpful to save on taxes for the company and will bankrupt the worker.

They want the same thing in gaming, and as a result, they will try to push their "whales" or people who they think are loyal to them, to their digital market, and flaunt themselves like they are a brand who everyone loves, and as such they can abuse their customers and workers. Not going to happen, and a crashing they will go..

No thank you... Ok... sorry side tracked there, but year. Your money, you choose.

It's apparently only blank Blu-Rays that are going to be no longer available, the kind that people buy to burn their own stuff onto. Still, it's a troubling trend, and I wouldn't be surprised if physical PS5 games aren't long for this world either. Xbox is already doing it with their first-party games, and third-party companies have been doing that for years, I think Fallout 76 just had a code for online redemption in the physical case. Once physical media is gone, a lot of the appeal is gone for consoles IMO. Most of the games I buy that are AAA I buy physically, since you find way better deals during holidays or whenever compared to on the actual company stores. The digital-only consoles also seem like a way to nudge people toward accepting no more physical games. I bought a used regular PS5 because even the slims that come with disc drives don't have them built-in, which seems to be their model going forward. PS4 games in particular are generally a lot cheaper to get physically, unless it's an indie game or something that frequently goes on sale for 75% off or whathaveyou.

the game is very pricey compared to those on steam :D
thus we could get from this meme ::firgirlsmirk you know what i mean, look at the photo this gurl is a legend at compressed package
