If you have an LG TV and/or monitor, it's probably a good idea to disconnect it from the internet or disable the microphone

d. Voice Recognition and Privacy Compliance. Depending on the environment in which a product with voice recognition functionality is used, the voices and utterances of third parties (including family members, guests, children, and bystanders) in the vicinity may be recorded and analyzed to provide the AI-Based Services.

i. CONSENT REQUIREMENT: You acknowledge and agree that it is your sole responsibility to obtain all necessary consents from any third parties whose voices may be captured by the Product and to notify household members and guests that their voices may be captured and processed, in compliance with applicable wiretapping, eavesdropping, and privacy laws. If anyone does not consent, you should disable the microphone or voice features in the settings. LGE disclaims any liability for your failure to obtain such consent or provide such notification.

Ah yes, the legalise of "we're doing this thing, not disclosing it with reasonable warnings, and it's YOUR responsibility to know and make everyone near you aware".

I have an old 2010 LG monitor plus an LG smart TV from 2017 ish, so I think as long as I keep the tv offline I'm safe

I just wish my old LG would stop muting the audio when the volume dips. It makes any retro game unplayable on it. Anyone else have this issue?

I think it's done to avoid floor noise, but it's just plain annoying.

lol, as if I'd ever let my TV connect to the internet.
hell no.

My old Hitachi Smart TV (RIP) would so reliably shit the bed on YouTube whenever ads played... it was like a plastic ad for YT Premium at that point xD

The warnings are hilarious! I’m assuming their 3rd party is Grok.
Because the AI-Based Services rely on statistical patterns and third-party systems, they may sometimes provide responses that do not reflect the views of LGE, fail to carry out a requested action, or take a different action than you intended. You acknowledge that LGE has no control over, and assumes no responsibility for, any errors, defects, or malfunctions that may arise from such third-party generative AI systems.
Translation: your TV may start spewing racist/sexist information. Not our AI, not our problem.

Due to the technical nature of generative AI, the AI-Based Services may generate results ("Output") that are incomplete, inaccurate, inappropriate, or that do not reflect LGE's position. In some cases, such Output could potentially lead to physical injury, property damage, or other harm to life, body, or property. … You acknowledge these risks and agree that it is your sole responsibility to independently verify and exercise your own judgment and caution to assess the truthfulness, completeness, accuracy, appropriateness, and safety of any Output before relying on it or using it.
Translation: We acknowledge AI works on the “shit in, shit out” process. You have been warned and you can’t sue us.

Just get a decent pair of bookshelf speakers for under a hundred bucks. They will outperform almost all televisions' built in audio in terms of sound quality and you won't be plagued by any weird features.

our 55 inch tv is LG im sure it'll pick up on my dads endless racist rants by now lol.

Nope. No analog output on the TV. And if you convert the Optical audio to analog, it will still do the audio ducking.

Trust me, I've ran through the options.

Internet has become a mistake, companies did had TV to sent us messages, but now they can look and listen to us.

Man I have not used LG products sense their flip phones around 2005. My PC monitors is AOC and Samsung. My smart monitor which I use as I TV for my PS1,2,3 is a Samsung and yes it´s a smart monitor with speakers and not a TV but I use it for my consoles as it has speakers.

Then my 4K TV is a birthday gift from my dad and it was a 500 bucks Andersson TV. Andersson is a Brand that is owned by a company called NetOnNet which is a company that operates in Sweden and Norway.

But yeah 90% of my tech is a mix between Samsung, Sony and Andersson.

Sadly Samsung and Sony has become rather evil and trash and I wish I could switch them out but sadly new monitors are not cheap.

And I love my Galaxy fold 6 allot and sadly my favorite phone brand does not make fold able phones in fact their phone are more focused on repair ability and fairtrade and that brand is Fairphone.

But the sad fact is because they are easy to repair your self even they don´t have wireless charging and are not very water proof and as they focus on being fairtrade and bit on the cheaper side well they don´t make modern flip phones or foldable.

But man I love my galaxy fold it´s great to watch anime on and is basicly a phone and tablet in one which is awesome.

OH also My printer is a Canon PIXMA TS5351 from 2019 and I baught it second hand for 50 Swedish kroner = to 5 bucks. I paid nearly nothing for it sadly the ink still cost like 50 bucks for XL size black ink 60 bucks for XL color ink or 90 bucks for a black + Color ink combo but the best part is NO FUCKING subscirbition or bullshit it work fine can be connected to my PC via Wifi and it has scaning function.

ANYWAY im sorry for my poinltess damn rant about what tech I own no one fucking asked for it >.<

By the way, on a similar subject, if you own a smart tv, have it connected to the internet and have ever installed an app on it from whatever appstore it uses, there's around a good chance it's part of a botnet now.
