Hot takes

In my personal experiences and the experiences of people I personally knew, medicine rarely helps too but this is subjective to what the medicine is actually trying to resolve.

Most anti-depresants rarely work.
(if you disclose that you are on anti-depresants you can get out of a drug test).
But medicine for BPD and Bipolar actually do something but comes with side effects.
For instance Risperdal can have the unwanted side effect of parkinsons.

This whole "controversy" with Mixetape is ridiculous. while I have no interest in the game, I can see why people enjoy it. For those that don't like it, you already know what type of game this is at this point. So if you haven't bought it, there's no want to use screaming and raging about it. There are so many other games that can vie for your attention than this, and not constantly going online and screaming at a video just so you can feel smart.

I concur..

In most cases, if you're depressed, it's your brain telling you that something that you are doing, or your environment, sucks and you need to change it..

MANY different things can cause this: having a shitty diet, dehydration, a lack of exercise, moldy living conditions, having no friends, being around abusive people, not having a job, going through a legitimately stressful time in your life, not having any discipline and/or life goals... just to name a few...
About the only thing(s) that talking to somebody can help with is perhaps with initially identifying the afflicting problem(s) and/or developing a proactive plan of action... that's about it. Anything beyond that is just "rumination," which is depressing by definition..

In all likelihood, most people in general (but men in particular) would be better off with a coach of some sort learning a difficult skill, be it a physical one like Martial Arts, Weight Lifting, a running/cycling group, or perhaps an apprenticeship in a Trade, or maybe even finding a "Toastmasters" group nearby to develop your speaking ability..

It was effectively a badly written Visual Novel by an "independent" studio (that was funded by a billionaire) that got straight 10/10 scores from gaming journalist that gave games that players actually liked middling scores..

It's basically an adventure game that takes place in a suburban 90s neighborhood featuring three teens and a coming of age story. The gameplay is minminal, but it does change it up, but the entire point is the story, and the characters. You have the usual rage baiters freaking out.Because professional critics and even certain youtube critics are given the game high praise or high scores. Even then, the steam rating is good on the user and audience end, so so there isn't what I would not call a "pay off". It's a $20 adventure, story driven, narrative game. You're either into these things or not.

Great synopsis.

Considering how well nick's tape is doing on both ends and not counting the rage baiters. I wouldn't call it "bad". Just seems like another visual novel cool visuals and aesthetics and simplified gameplay. There are people who are into that kind of thing, and there's nothing wrong with that. Find some you don't like it, but it doesn't give me the right to insult others who enjoy it, and are minding their own business. I'm not into this either, but I don't raise to the heavens.Nor how to melt down, because people love the game or certain critics love the game. It's called, act like a grown ass adult and be mature about it. There are a bunch of other games out there. So this one little visual novel getting high reviews shouldn't bother you much.

I've just made too many Sonic memes. "Real Sonic fans hate the games" and all. I know there's been plenty of good games, I'm just being dumb.
Yeah, I heard sonic fans say: "good game, bad sonic" very often, but I really don't understand that

It's a nothing and extending goalpost term, that means the Sonic game wasn't "good/good enough" for them.

Well, I can understand it but the phrase still doesn't make sense for me

It just means that Sonic games suck. Always have and always will.

*plays Sonic games for 10 hours straight*

Aw yeah, baby!!!

Is this related of Sonic Frontiers? I don't mind more open ended levels and the Cycle Loop mechanic sounds cool on paper (even if it's just a self-plagiarism of the Paraloop from Nights) yet I also feel like I've stumbled upon a tech demo of an Open World game that happens to have Sonic in it.

Did it really need an RPG mechanic with stats leveling and Skill Tree of all things? Those feel like modern game mechanics being shoehorned into the game for the sake of being modern (that and parrying). The addition of Cyberspace levels taking assets from Generations and level design from previous Sonic games (although they ignored SA1 and Heroes' levels of all things) made it feel like they weren't even sure of their new formula.

PSO2 New Genesis also felt empty for an open world and even compared to PSO2's post-Episode 3 it had a lot of flaws and didn't feel complete until recently.

It has gotten to the point where people are defending the level up and combat mechanics of the werehog from Unleashed we're going on about how it's not that bad. If they're talking about the Wii version, mostly fair enough, but the hd versions drag on for way too long, with the level design. Making the combat really not worth it and too repetitive with the platforming as well.

Good videos btw.

I don't understand the need for a skill tree nor exp bars to fill either. The Wii version having a linear upgrade system is in my opinion better (that and the way to advance through the next levels that doesn't require collectathon trinkets).

Here's an idea; do CERTAIN game mods ruin a game experience?

For example we have over the shoulder mods for Silent Hill 2 and 3, and you might say that it's just another way of experiencing the games or a quality of life improvment, but I disagree.
Those games were not designed nor intended to be played in that manner by their developers.
Silent Hill 3 for example, the most memorable scare in the game was a jump scare where an enemy on the floor is hidden from view by a bed, attacks the player out of nowhere.
That wouldn't have worked if the player could rotate or control the camera during that section.

Another example is in Devil May Cry 3, we have style the switching mod, but the game and it's levels aren't designed with that in mind, the balancing was never intended for that kind of freedom. It was always about utilizing the current style you equiped and the weapons you intentionally chose to go with and making the best out of what you have at that situation in the most stylish way imaginable.
Giving the player every option at all times defeats the purpose of deciding a load out.
I mean if the player is given the freedom to go all out, then the game should also be given the same kind of freedom too, like randomizing enemy spawns, fighting 8 different enemy types simultaniously, because why even have constraints at that point if the player has unlimited options?

Mosquito, Bedbug and wasps are the only animals i agree should be rendered extinct

Modding games to fix actual flaws and glitches isn't an issue but messing up the game balance may be an actual one.

Like, I don't blame people playing a modded version of Castlevania II because of how the game gives you false advices and how some part can be tedious on the long run. Now if Rondo of Blood had 8-directional whip it would mess up the difficulty.

I also encourage people to play Doom without Brutal Doom first (or at least without kicking because that move is overpowered imo).

Some are neutral additions like adding the spin-dash and the drop dash in Sonic 1 when the game didn't have either in mind but could improve the flow.

Mosquito, Bedbug and wasps are the only animals i agree should be rendered extinct.
My nihilistic side would add homo sapiens to the list because of how this is one of the few species that can literally destroy the biosphere but I still have hopes that things can still go better.

Although Mostquitos and wasps are still useful to the ecosystem so removing them can potentially mess up the alimentary chain.

Then again species go extinct and new comes up since it's part of a natural cycle that began eons ago, we already had several mass extinctions on Earth and there are still living things.

High end graphics, 16 times the detail or whatever are completely pointless and only contribute to a games file size in games that arent trying to tell any kind of story or worldbuilding through object placement or level design

What am i going to do with hyper realistic face textures if the character is still going to jank harder than a cancelled ps2 game? I'd rather they put more care into animation because that is what brings things to life more than graphics ever could

It just feels like a waste when most of the objects in modern AAA are not even interactive, just sitting there to increase the eye candy
