i've tried to ignore that part about him. i'm not sure what it is that makes him come off like that. i've seen it here and there; and i figured that maybe he just doesn't know how to phrase his thoughts in the right way. and english isn't his native language, so maybe what he says in it comes out differently than he intends for it to.
@Xdqwerty i apologize for being a bit too harsh on what you said. i got a lot of stress pent up, and i can't vent it out fast enough while playing some games at the current time; and it slipped out and came towards you. i should have said that those words have different meanings, and left it at that. sorry.

i don't think of him like he's my kid, i think of him as a friend. i don't mind if he notices some flaw about himself or doesn't want to be boastful and pompous about himself. i just don't want him to be so negative about himself that he could get to the point where he can't even take a compliment or anything like that.

i know. many lines are razor thin. i don't ask about anything personal about him. he just mainly vents about school being boring and the annoying people over on gbatemp. i tell him to ignore those people and that i also did not care for school. it was boring and dull for me too.

You gotta stop treating this as a substitute for the Mental Health thread. We're not able to help you in that way, and you're just gonna make people annoyed with you.

Another hot take of mine is that this thread should have gone to trash. Nothing good could possibly rise from here. The same reasoning as deleting the mental health thread: it's not RGT's scope (forums should not mirror the worst of social media culture), since we lack the tools to properly address some tensions generated by it. But of course, this is up to discussion among the staff.

If it was just "pizza with pineapples is for dipshits" or whatever, perhaps with a brief argument, that'd be one thing. Because it isn't something that merits discussion, it's just someone's goof or grievance being shouted to no one. But it's regressed into 'here is a list of things I am annoyed with, read my unabomber manifesto about it' and that's better served on one's blog area of the site imo. So if it did get nuked, not a lot lost.

Exactly, and exactly for this purpose xenforo already have the profile posts feature. It is easier not to let a profile post escalate into shit. Not quite the same for a thread.

Final Fantasy III gets shit on for not being able to carry over abilities from differenr jobs, but has way more depth as a story when compared to FFV which is bland and short in comparison.
