Hot takes

It’s a super fun way to eat it. Obviously it goes without saying you should be into rice first, because it’s meant as a topping. You want to caramelize some onions first then add the raisins. It’s meant to be cooked slowly. Naturally, the final products needs to be sweet and savory. It’s a super common traditional rice topping here. I like it more than cashews personally.

Also DBS was probably never gonna be good. Even when it got better animation directors, it was likely gonna keep the same old habits.
One piece also will likely never drop the one manga chapter per episode format which is just agonizing to sit through.
Gintama doesn’t do this at all despite being basically almost half the length of the one piece anime.
Ah, if you mean it with rice, then yeah, I have tried it before, and yeah, it's really good. I thought you meant it in the traditional American sense, with batter and breadcrumbs, and then putting them in the old deep fryer.

Yeah, I have heard Gintama to be a really good anime to watch, I have it in my watchlist, but it will probably take a long time before I start with it.

If you say too much, they give you delulu pills that will slowly destroy you. If you don't say much, they will say you have a bunch of disorders which you may not even have, and then later down the line, they will f you up heavily. The thing is, a lot of psychological disorders and thoughts can be cultivated and controlled via a lot of methods (not all, of course and depending on the degree).

I mean, if you are forced to say, then yeah, it is. But I don't know how it is where you live but in the country I live in if you don't want to say anything they can't really do anything and they will just send you back home, this is if you even wanted therapy in the first place as if you don't want it you are not obliged to get it. But then again, where I live, they don't really give a f about your mental health, and I have heard of people spending decades just bouncing around the system trying to get "help". All in all, one should just do what he thinks is best at the specific situation.

According to Google Ai overview:
Therapy and counseling in Venezuela are developing but face challenges. While counseling is becoming more prominent, it's not yet an autonomous profession, and its practice is often linked to other disciplines. There's a growing recognition of the need for mental health services, but the public sector struggles to meet the increasing demands.

Here's a more detailed look:
1. Current Status and Trends:
  • Emerging Field:
Counseling is considered an emerging profession in Latin America, including Venezuela, with a focus on holistic assessment and community-based healing.

  • School Counseling:
There's a push to re-establish school counseling systems in public schools, with counselors being placed in various educational institutions.

  • Increased Awareness:
There's a growing awareness of the need for mental health support, with organizations like UNICEF and the UN taking notice of the struggles Venezuelans face.

  • Private Practice:
While the public sector is struggling, private practices of psychologists and counselors are emerging.

  • Free and Low-Cost Services:
Some psychologists and organizations are offering free or low-cost mental health services, including helplines and online directories.
2. Challenges and Issues:
  • Stigma:
There's still a significant stigma associated with therapy and mental health, with some preferring to seek help from religious figures rather than therapists.

  • Lack of Resources:
The country's economic crisis has strained the health care system, making it difficult for individuals to access mental health services.

  • Limited Training:
The need for good graduate programs in counseling and psychotherapy is recognized, but the training programs themselves need to improve.

  • Legal Regulations:
The lack of a legal framework for the independent practice of counseling can hinder the development of the field.
3. Future Directions:
  • Increased Education:
More higher education institutions are offering counseling degrees, signaling a commitment to the growth of the field.

  • Government Support:
The government is promoting the reestablishment of school counseling systems, indicating a recognition of the importance of mental health support in schools.

  • Professional Organizations:
Professional organizations, like the Federación de Psicólogos de Venezuela, are taking steps to address the crisis by offering free services, creating directories, and raising public awareness.

  • Collaboration:
There's a need for collaboration between government, private practitioners, and international organizations to address the growing demand for mental health services.
In essence, therapy and counseling in Venezuela are evolving, but they are facing significant challenges related to the country's broader economic and social crisis. However, there are efforts underway to improve access to care, raise public awareness, and strengthen the profession.

People who consider listening to an audiobook to be the same/as enriching an experience as reading that same book on the screen, much less a physical book copy, are deluding themselves simply because they don't want to read. There isn't anything wrong with audiobooks themselves, but pretending they are as up to par as text you intellectually engage with using your eyes is just silly.

Is actually easier to get distracted from listening to audiobooks

Well, I think the issue would be that, if you're listening to an audiobook, there's a good chance you're also doing something else at the same time. It happens to be the case that people use them as background noise. This is impossible with a book.
But if someone just listens to an audiobook with their eyes closed, IDK why they couldn't have the same level of active engagement as someone reading the words.

The only thing I'm fine listening to are informational books such as encyclopaedia and history/mathematical books.

For a fictional story I cannot get immersed well enough with them, I need paper and words to have a better "grasp" on the characters and universe they're living in.

Radio series, podcasts and even audio drama work better because they're narrated in a way specifically for audio (like different voices instead of one reader taking different tones and sound effects). An Audiobook works better if you are doing nothing else.

anti-cheats are ruining online gaming more than actual cheating

we need more games without any anticheat that just handles it the old fashioned way of banning anyone that's ruining the vibe

The issue is that while banning cheaters is understandable big online games are also trying to ban anyone they may think they'd say something harmful (because of the faulty algorithm/voice recognition program).

Also some tricks are not cheating per se so what could define something "ruining the vibe" if they're just being good?

How many people are still doing well past 60? I feel that out of the entire life expectancy of someone we should take the "effective" aspect of it like how we aren't really self aware before 3 and not fully developed until 20-25. Out of around 80 years of life we have 50-60 of actual effectivity.

Can make your own on a Sunday and feeze them for the week. This is what we do in my house, unless we are rapping tortilla, then we just chop the veggie and heat up the meat.

Dio had a better voice actor in the arcade game than in the David productions anime

I saw somewhere that saying "goodnight" and "good morning" is a sign of mental disparity and it makes want to "goodnight" (knock out) whoever said that. It takes 5 seconds

I love Koyasu's voice but I agree, he sounded more monstrous/otherworldly in there.
