Resident Evil has not really advanced as a series in a long time. RE7 and 8 were markedly better than what came immediately before, but they're way less interesting as games. The remakes are fun, but they're basically just redoing what RE4/5 achieved.

Fire Emblem has gotten, maybe not "worse," but way less interesting. As soon as they abandoned the original formula it basically became a bog-standard JRPG with dating sim elements, and none of the resource management/survival that made the games so replayable and addictive.

RE Village felt like a former alcoholic returning to his bad habits. 7 had to ignore a bunch of previous stuff and make the stakes somewhat smaller, and for the most part, it worked. 7 did A LOT of the heavy lifting when it came to the gameplay of the series after all that transpired in the identity crisis the series had ever since OG RE4, which dare I say is repeating itself now that they redid nearly every classic game so it played like RE4. Might as well get a re-re-remake of RE1 at this point, lol.

Not to mention the Bakers were sooooo much better as villains than the Four Lords. Also Miranda might be up there with Simmons as the dumbest villain the series has ever had, and we're talking about Resident Evil, so think of the ground that covers.

I'll start...Errm...Uhhhh...
Marvel VS Capcom 2 is one of the most overrated Capcom fighting games; let alone for the genre.
While the mechanics can be enjoyable, I personally just don't enjoy the flashy, over the top sky launching combos of the VS series in general. And although the slight brokenness of the game is fun for most, I personally find it more tedious than anything.

I feel this in my soul. Would have been happy to shave a large portion of the roster if it meant we could have new hand drawn sprites and a proper 6 Button layout. The first MvC was much better in my opinion

I don't care what media or entertainment people on the internet like or dislike. I don't think anyone is lesser or stupid for liking something I don't enjoy, nor do I feel hostility towards someone who's taste doesn't align with my own. If you like something I don't get, I'm genuinely happy that you found something in it I could not. If you dislike something I like, I wish you could feel what I feel, but I understand not everything is for everyone. I'm pretty firmly in the "Let people like what they like" camp, and have no desire to shit on someone's good time.

I try my best to use language like "I do not care for this" or "I personally felt" as opposed to using hard "it sucks" kind of language. I really don't care if it sounds too soft. Media means different things to different people, and who am I to step on that?

I try my best to use language like "I do not care for this" or "I personally felt" as opposed to using hard "it sucks" kind of language. I really don't care if it sounds too soft. Media means different things to different people, and who am I to step on that?

Maybe it depends on education but I am used to get told that if I dislike something I should say "I don't like" because I used to say things such as "it's trash/bad/awful" even for things I've never tried.

The issue is that on the internet, with anonymity (so people would get less socially restrained) they wouldn't mind going far (almost as implying that people liking something are idiots or don't have a "proper taste").

Of course, if something is legitimately harmful towards people I would say it's bad and not just that I dislike it, it goes without saying.

I hate putting ice cubes in a drink.
Sure, they make it more icy (pun intended) and all that, but then they melt after a while and ruin the drink.

Yep. Patronising is already rude (especially when the person is actually younger, not that age has something to do with authority or intellect) and overusing sarcasm and snarky remarks isn't constructive.

In fact, irl I had a "friend" that has spent most of his time doing snarky and sarcastic remarks about me (even in front of others to my detriment) to the point I stopped hang with them.

It's the same with banter, even if sometimes it's friendly some people are using the "I was just joking, chill out." excuse to be actually mean towards someone.

As someone who never found a single person that has the same taste and/or interest as me, I share the same outlook. In fact it's pretty hard to make me care about something.

You’ve must’ve had really limited exposure to people then, assuming you like disgaea based in your avatar, it’s not hard to find fans of that. I’ve liked the series well enough and Etna is one of my favorite gaming characters, unless you mean interests in a broader sense, like wrestling or cooking or what have you. Then I can understand somewhat, or unless you mean irl, in which I obviously can’t comment.

I hate this with every fiber of my being too. I rarely understood the logic or reason behind it. In the states, it’s done because soft drinks are not always refrigerated. But besides that I find it odd, especially when soda machines give you really cold soda to begin with. I suppose the ice makes sense if you plan to drink your drinks for longer, which I’m definitely not against or anything. Or if you want to water down your drinks.

I meant IRL, let's say video games for example, sure there are people I know who like games as in a simple gaming on mobile all the way to the helpless gambling addicts, but nobody that I know of ever took it seriously, it's just a hobby to them, if you can call it that even.
Not to mention my unusual quirks and tastes, I admit not many people can 'click' with me that well, even my closest friend don't understand the way my brain works sometimes.

Count me in as well. I never put ice in fountain drinks as it always waters down, and I will usually go for a chilled bottled soda over a fountain soda. Ice cubes are more of a whiskey thing and have no place near a soft drink.

Yeah it’s definitely not my place to say anything there. My bad. I’ve had weird luck with finding people with similar interests, in which I can say that commonalities are one thing, but staying in touch is far trickier than one might think.
I have a hard time keeping in touch with my younger brother, but he did invite me to see a movie together on Kuwait’s Independence Day last month.
