Came here to say this. Cinema games are my least favorite part of modern gaming. Last of Us Part 1 is overrated nonsense with extremely unlikeable characters and narrow, shooting gallery combat sections. Part 2 has a little more going for it mechanically, but I'd take a game with complete gameplay systems where I have the ability to express myself with the tools given, over doing what the "auteur" game director thinks I should be doing. Nintendo may be evil, but at least they still remember what makes games fun and interesting. Sony, Microsoft, and the Big Three never knew.

Also, Kingdom Hearts 2 is kind of shit. Everything it does, KH1 does better, except for combat, which KH2 blunders every chance it gets despite its improvements. There! It's been said!

- Half Life series suck ass. Especially 2nd game is buggy glitchy mess that has brain fart AI of the centuary but the game is loved as much as a trophy wife who always accidentally burn the house down every time she try to smoke cigarate but you like her just because her breasts can be useful like airbags!!! lol

- GTA series suck ass except GTA San Andreas. Especially fuck GTA 5.

- Fuck Gran Turismo games. The developers need a license to develop games lol.

- Fuck most of Nintendo games. Fuck Mario, fuck Zelda, fuck Pokemon, fucky fuck 99,99% of their library.

- Fuck Call of Duty after 3rd and Battlefield series after Bad Company 2.

- Fuck Counter-Strike, Overwatch, PUBG, Fortnite, Apex Legends, Valorant, Roblox, Minecraft... just fuuuuuuck.

- Fuck the MMO genre, fuck even World of Warcraft. Fuck them massively lol. Fuck any gacha shit, fuck Hoyoverse shits.

Indie games are actually fun and enjoyable.

As much as I love the games they were inspired by, sometimes you just need to experience something new once in a while and see a different take, not all things can last forever and it is nice to see that their fans try to recreate something interesting that reformulate the genre, or brings something new. The way I see it, indie games are simple and short projects that provides unique experience that can be impactful when executed properly that can last a long time.

I'll never understand this argument, because to me that very notion means that the landscape is healthy and allows for genres previously regulated to an old (and often completely retired) series or brand or whatever keep existing and be iterated upon, because it's proof that there's clearly demand for more games of those given styles, and smaller teams are able to make more niche experiences within those genres.

Doesn't mean that all of them will be good or whatever of course, but then again that wasn't true when the only non-linear platformers around were Metroid or Castlevania either.

Honestly for me that's okay. Sometimes the indie developer is fan of a genre or a particular game so they wanna produce something like that as a life goal. Sometimes they just develop some generic game for fun or for homework so they sell them and whatnot, why not? That's ok. Sometimes you may even wanna buy some of these games with left over Steam Wallet money especially during sells and you are that bored. It's really relaxing to just sit down and finish any game in a day or play one game for long time.

But my problem is with fucking jobless twats who are fucking so horny they find a fucking excuse to spam some fucking virgin simulator porn shit and expect dollars to rain and they will never have to work at all or again and their quality sucks so ass I'm not interested in such "games" but I imagine even the most horny kid in the middle school wouldn't even play that crap so IDK where that confidence comes from so they believe that shit will even sell for $1, and sometimes they ask insane prices and Valve just sells these shits.

That's what staleness is, when everyone keeps doing the same thing over and over again. Indie gaming is supposed to be the antithesis of that. I swear there isn't a month that goes by without some more stupid roguelikes hitting the indie scene. It's the same crap over and over and over and over again.

I disagree, because there will always be trends, but I get your point even though I feel it's kind of a generalization. I don't really think of genres that way, they're divorced from individual series to me (in that, I have a hard time feeling something as full of tiny variables as a genre could grow stale, but a series just doing the same thing with marginal differences definitely can).
Seeing the same popular things advertised constantly does aggravate the feeling though, that's true, but usually only a handful of the most popular games get advertised like that, there are trillions of indie games out there.

If something looks uninteresting I'll just not play it usually. It doesn't cause me any grief by existing.
