Hot takes

I'll never understand this argument, because to me that very notion means that the landscape is healthy and allows for genres previously regulated to an old (and often completely retired) series or brand or whatever keep existing and be iterated upon, because it's proof that there's clearly demand for more games of those given styles, and smaller teams are able to make more niche experiences within those genres.

Doesn't mean that all of them will be good or whatever of course, but then again that wasn't true when the only non-linear platformers around were Metroid or Castlevania either.
That's what staleness is, when everyone keeps doing the same thing over and over again. Indie gaming is supposed to be the antithesis of that. I swear there isn't a month that goes by without some more stupid roguelikes hitting the indie scene. It's the same crap over and over and over and over again.

I disagree, because there will always be trends, but I get your point even though I feel it's kind of a generalization. I don't really think of genres that way, they're divorced from individual series to me (in that, I have a hard time feeling something as full of tiny variables as a genre could grow stale, but a series just doing the same thing with marginal differences definitely can).
Seeing the same popular things advertised constantly does aggravate the feeling though, that's true, but usually only a handful of the most popular games get advertised like that, there are trillions of indie games out there.

If something looks uninteresting I'll just not play it usually. It doesn't cause me any grief by existing.

i like tail of the sun on psx :-( - it was one of the first psx game i owned

Sonic hasn’t been good since 2005.
There I said it. Feel free to unleash your fury onto me.
I don't think Sonic has been good since Sega Genesis, unless you count Chaotix which doesn't even have Sonic 😅

The entire 'Halo' series is completely OVERRATED!!!

There... I said it... FIGHT ME...

Furthermore, if Halo never existed, Xbox would have went the way of the Atari Jaguar..

I've had one friend literally lose the best job he's ever had AND a smoking-hot wife over his addiction to Halo 2..
Like... Dude... It's a decent game, but come on...
If it were any other game in the franchise, I'd agree with you..

But no. Fuck that bitch. Halo 2 all the way.
If she doesn't understand that, you can do better. But that's just my opinion. 😅

I'm not interested in such "games" but I imagine even the most horny kid in the middle school wouldn't even play that crap so IDK

lolol
Frankly, I think you're underestimating the internet's Gooning response. Even adults will play that low-rent hentai shit on Steam.

Hell, if you wanna know how mindlessly horny people can be online you can check out a few of the users on RGT ::winkfelix

Real talk though; do we really need more threads like these??
The normal shitty Hot Takes thread (and it's non-gaming sibling) is already constantly active with people screaming their sub-zero opinions at brick walls. At least take a gander among the ongoing threads.

Absolutely not, and it surprises me how people won't still enjoy this as a hobby (that just like anything else isn't perfect. But from how much criticism on everything there is I feel who does it doesn't actually like it at all).

gamers love bitching

Yeah, that's the problem. It gets stale and uninteresting. Dunno why you people kept at it.

*Ahem* The Advance's trilogy, Rush's duology, Colours, Generations, Mania, Shadow Generations and even The Murder of Sonic The Hedgehog?

On the other hand we already got a hot take topic and gamers are always keen on optimising the fun out of games.

It will surprise you how many people hates those games as well. I have no idea how this franchise is so cursed, but I do love to like, at worst, most of the games from each era (the modern ones I don't like at all are Heroes and obvious stuff like 06 and Sonic Boom. Everyone is right to say they're objectively bad).

Eh, I think the Internet people are more easily following popular opinions without even trying the games (or 10 minutes at best).

You're one of the gamers that loves to bitch on anything, as the dude before put it? If you're not, then why you're feeling attacked? ::huhsonic
Genuinely not feeling attacked. I just watched the Hateful Eight last night and felt like using a Sam Jackson Gif and "you people" is a well-known line from films when offensively refering to black people.

TLDR: t'was a joke.

Wasn't there a similar miscommunication joke in Die Hard 3 or I'm confusing both movies?

Sonic Retro isn't the most updated since some hacks aren't there but I don't see how that negates my point.
Well, I tried all those games you mentioned (save for one or two) and I hated 'em!
Well alright, except Sonic Mania. But that's only an exception because it goes back to the old style without being a mere remaster.

I also tried Sonic Origins and that was pretty good, but playing as Amy is way cooler in the hack than the licensed release.

I noticed Bryan Adam's Run To You from 1985 having a similar melody to StarCraft's Terran campaign music.
Obviously it wasn't copy pasted but am I going crazy sensing a rif being sampled?

I can vaguely recall Marvel's Spider-man having a similar theme to Obi-Wan show.

Also I think Mandalorian S2 had some Final Fantasy music I think from the 9th game.

Welp, It's all in the title ya see. Share some downright horrid takes and opinions.
I'll start...Errm...Uhhhh...
Marvel VS Capcom 2 is one of the most overrated Capcom fighting games; let alone for the genre.
While the mechanics can be enjoyable, I personally just don't enjoy the flashy, over the top sky launching combos of the VS series in general. And although the slight brokenness of the game is fun for most, I personally find it more tedious than anything.

dejiko actually agrees with this, nyo...i never liked the game despite trying to get into it years ago, nyo

that said, i am not a fan of tag fighters in general, nyo!

A thread from a deleted user is still running that's really unusual and really something new is there a reason for this ?
