Not much an ax to grind when youtube and social media pushes these guys to the forefront, the moment you get to the home screen, and you're not logged in or viewing as a guest. This has been going on for a long while. How you have not noticed is beyond me.But that's what they want you to think. They thrive off of either negative engagement or harmful ignorance. None of what you're saying is wrong here, but do you not see how, in your constant efforts to expose grifters for the harmful conmen that they are, you are putting out tonnes of really negatively charged posts and comments? I think the majority of folks are aware of the phenomenons you describe, and when you assume people's ignorance, you often do so in a way that's abrasive or demeaning, which pushes people away or causes you to get in unnecessarily heated arguments. By extension, it's like these grifters then own you, living "rent-free" in your head, as the youth say.

I have on other website forums. I did use schemers a couple times as well on here. I don't mind mixing it up.But it all means the same thing. Me saying the word grifter doesn't make it lose all meaning when once again, youtube keeps propping these people up over nearly anyone else. Youtube and social media thrives off of negative engagement. It's why tend not to bother with these asses. They're all the same and pretty much interchangeable with only minute differences. You can thank the dickholes in charge for encouraging the system. They themselves that are glorified if schemers and con men. Sometimes con women as well.

I have nostalgia for a lot of things but the "old good new bad" mindset is as harmful as accepting everything new even if they're low quality products.

Bio9's a perfect example because it uses the old characters and locations but only on a surface level so the 30yo picks it up just cause theres Leon and the RPD in it

But its nothing like it, all the gameplay stuff got thrown out, so did the level design music and atmosphere etc so it plays like the last of us

So really unless you're really into that for some reason you're just picking it up for the nostalgia

Same with SH2R, they Couldve improved the gameplay, the bosses and the enemy variery like SH3 did, but no. It was concept with just slopping it up, homogenousing it and padding it cause people just wana pick it up cause its that one game with 5 milion views video essay; not cause returning players that all the endings and the 10 star ranking will think its cool if you expand on the gameplay and the maps (like Bio1 remake)

I'd argue that in its time Twilight Princess was already a modern version of Ocarina of Time and it's still one of the most beloved entries in the franchise.

More recently BotW which is a new take on the formula and has gotten great ratings and many players liked it.

Notice how I never gave out any actual names, though. I did for a few, but those are people that are already losing ground or the people that followed them are abandoning them for the most petty reasons. I don't try to put every single one out there, but I let others know the mentality and the attitudes they want. It's better to point those out than to act as if there's nothing wrong ,or be completely "ignorant" about the situation. The topic creator put these fools out here and posted their actual videos. I never actually posted their videos or only mentioned them by name. The worst I've ever done was put out response videos sometimes on people calling these asses out. Even then, I only did it the two times.

Exactly, but some people forget this and get trapped into their rage or their constant nostalgia for the old. Or thinking, by avoiding anything, almost new or modern, together that it automatically makes them better than everyone else and makes them no different from the old people that hated on them for liking anything new.

Addendum: not everything modern is slop and not everything old is automatically good either.

Also, I've met plenty of Gen Z people who are able to decide for themselves and enjoy modern games and older games/games that throwback all at the same time. Some I know personally and see as people and their own actual person/individual. Not extensions of my selfish wants, needs, nor desires.

I agree I am a young adult who likes things from the past, but that doesn't mean I should idealize them. I know that not everything old was good, (I've played a lot of retro games and watched bad movies), and not everything today is the worst thing in the world.
I think the idealization of the past is due to the fact that we more often remember the good and ignore the bad; with the present, we should also recognize the good. But it's really a matter of taste

EU is a whiny, piss ants, bitch, who hates on anything new or is a remake, regardless of quality. Yet for all is crying about remakes had no problems about Ninja Gaiden II Black. Which really shows his hypocrisy and how even he's not immune like he presents himself as or will try to make excuses for liking a remake. He goes out of his way to insult people for being invested or enjoying new games. So he's on my automatic fuck you list. No person like him is worth listening.No respecting when you go that far to antagonize people just for enjoying a game. This is even more ironic as II Black has even less bonus features than Sigma 2, yet never brings it up. I love II Black regardless because it fixes the issues, I had with either the original release or Sigma 2.

Amazing timing lol, I was just playing chapter 1 on Master Ninja minutes ago. The Master Ninja Version of this game is interesting because since the enemy spawns are pretty much the same as Sigma 2, a lot of the stage is relatively chill. And then you enter combat arenas and one hit basically kills. I'm having a ton of fun with it, but it certainly is a different beast than OG2. I'm honestly a bit surprised TN didn't do more to change this version from Sigma 2 (graphics aside) because I went through and counted the additional enemies in stage one (took forever) and they just added the 3 one-armed ninjas in the thousand lives room, a random stray ninja in the fire nimpo room, and 4 claw guys to the area where you get the staff. That's it. The delimb rate is def much more near the original release (it's insane how claw guys hardly ever delimb in sigma 2) but I'm really curious to see if there is a difference in damage taken in NG2Black. I'm gonna check on that before I finish my review of this game. Honestly this is a complicated beast to judge because in some ways the graphics additions and increased de-limb are worth it for me personally (NG2 is an all-time fav of mine as well) but on the other hand it's a shame the release isn't beefier, even outside of not preserving the OG version's enemy spawns more. But then again even a nerfed NG2 is still way more fun than the other stuff coming out right now, so I think in my review I am mostly gonna present hard data and my thoughts, but here's to hoping the game gets more support from TN. An OG enemy spawn option would be incredible, but TN probably won't go that far.

I see that Gen Z finally took standards and have an actual taste.

They play newer games too but their fascination with the older games is that those games are still way cheaper to get and/or free to download while they have a HUGE library at their hand and arent connected to the internet 24/7 which dont bring a barrage of advertisements with it . Its just you , the console and the game you play .

And dont forget that older games were made for the genres and didnt mashed all genres into one while you need to adapt into the game instead the games were adapted to anyone by design and provides a challenge for our flexibility to learn other game design approaches . QoL- features are the adaption for gamers and not what gamers need to adapt to the games . Its overall comfortability but never a necessity overall . There were pretty bad games back then too and its by far not a small list . But even in terrible games from back then , you can get some kind of fun from it while modern ones are just boring or broken till the Patch or Update finally arrived which puts it on pure mediocrity too , while only some can archieve above mediocrity through those fixes .

Younger people finally learned to appreciate even older stuff too . And denouncing that kind of freedom and wise approach for them is just a disservice for everyone and an absolute ignorant position of blindest kind .

I think Gen Z is the generation we finally can relate and work together from shared interests to hobbies overall . And if they want to approach older culture and see a way of life to find their own individuality and personality from it , then i gladly accept and help them.

People like Woolie, Max Dood, Matt McMuscles are actually respectful of other people's opinions and differences. Electric Underground also has that weird obsession over the options to make a single player game easier even if it doesn't affect the actual main game.

Like, arcade game re-releases having a Free Play mode doesn't remove the enjoyment from 1CC-ing as the score resets per continues.
