I'm a gen z that likes old stuff, everyone else in my friend group is less receptive to old stuff most of the time. Unless it's something they grew up with in the 7th-8th generation of consoles they stick to newer stuff. That said, they're very particular about the media they consume. While they don't often engage in "slop" they do look for modern games (or media in general) that do interest them.
