Played some of Metal Max for the NES on my Bittboy Pocket Go. Been enjoying it immensely, even if I had to redo the first dungeon where you get your first tank twice. Particularly love the dumb enemies like a caterpillar with a giant Vulcan gun on it's face and a gas can with legs

Making my way through Okami. I'm starting to get used to the combat by now but the camera controls can be annoying. The art style is incredible though

Playing Shadowgate 64, trying to deal with some unfinished business from my early teens, used to love it but never went very far.

Accidentally played three hours of Final Fantasy Tactics (TIC) after work today. I think I must be stressed

I recently started replaying Sonic Advanced 2. What an infuriating game that is. It all falls downhill after ice paradise. I Like Techno base but Sky Canyon and Egg Utopia are miserable stages.

Fans of the second game will tell you these stages are alright and that people just ignore the trick system but thats just copium IMO. There are some seriously questionable design decisions at play for those stages. Even if people do ignore the trick system i don't think it matters much because im not even a fan of how its designed in the first place.

Lastly don't get me started on the bosses, theyre all TERRIBLE

Master Duel on PS5, casual playlist with Horus deck & World of Horror runs.

I played a bit of Persona 5 Royal and feels like I'm almost at the end. What a journey!

When I was a kid, shortly after playing Final Fantasy VII for the first time, I went to my local Electronics Boutique and bought VIII, used. I played it (not loving it as much, but still having a wonderful time) until the end of Disc 1, at the climactic boss battle. The disc had a scratch on it, and I couldn't progress.

About a week ago I finally ponied up and bought the remaster on Steam, so: today, after almost 20 years, I got to Disc 2 of Final Fantasy VIII.

This is a thread to discuss games you've recently discovered and want to share with others, and a place to post about the various games you've been getting into recently.

As a gamer, I find myself discovering hidden gems on a regular occasion, and tried to think back to whether there's a thread for people to share what they've been playing lately. Rather than merely posting them in profile posts, I decided to make a thread specifically for people who enjoy finding interesting games, new and old, and want to share their experience with the rest of the community about their newfound hidden gems, obscure ROMs, or modern releases.

So, have you discovered any cool games lately?

There's already a stickied one with the very same subject here::peacemario

(Please don't take this as me wanting to rain on your parade because I created the original thread or something like that, I just happened to see this one in the Latest Thread and got surprised/deja vu)

Got a few more retroachievents on Yu-gi-oh Forbidden Memories.

Been looking around for some 3DS games and learnt that A-Train was released for it. Quite surprised by that, so I gave it a try and -

Madam please button up your shirt, we have trains to move.

After playing some Shadowgate 64, I did some research on the original NES trilogy of adventures: Deja vu, Uninvited and Shadowgate. And I learned it's called the MacVenture Series and it has a fourth game never released on the NES

A very underrated Sci-fi Racer with great and fastpaced gameplay , great racing-tracks and with unintentionally funny animations combined with trash-talking of the most arrogant and flattest kind ever but the coolest part is that every character speaks their own language and even tge countdown is in every language spoken written . The soundtracks are really nice Trance/techno that is rather smooth and action-packed when it needs too.

This is actually japanese Baldurs Gate which is glorious and its in the world of "Record of Lodoss-war" . And I like Record of Lodoss-war alot (Peak fantasy anime besides the Wizardry OVA) .
The game can be complicated because it truly put all rules of the japanese Tabletop RPG game into this game and you even need the Rulesbook to understand its mechanics . While it sounds cumbersome , i think its actually awesome ! Now i have a great TTRPG book in a PDF-format and the Snes game to play it . Even with its 0.99b version of the translation , its very playable and awesome . Maybe still more on basic side but this game is such a badass rpg gem . I hope they finish the translations and work on the second games translation .
