i'll be playing it later. i got a guide to reference whenever those choice options pop up; don't want a repeat of orge battle 64; made 1 choice and apparently have of the unique characters were locked off. didn't find out until halfway through while checking on class requirements.
yeah, that's always a good idea, but if i remember correctly, the game portrayed the character in question as a possible bad guy, [i don't think he was, that was part of the narrative] but for whatever reason, i guess because of the quiz at the start, i was more or less roleplaying as garland from dissidia and was all for the thrill of battle and destroying any foe who stood before me. so the game was like:
"what do think we should do with the captured enemy captain?"
1. be reasonable and take him in to custody
or
2. Glory to the Great Will; destroy all those who oppose it!
i picked option 2.

sounds a lot like when i played knights of the old republic 1. i went hardcore into the dark side. had the black dust cloud aura by the second planet on my characters status screen, i think.
i'll keep that in mind for later. i just finished that battle on the plains and i took a few minutes to check out the abilities page for each character. does every one gain jp for each job no matter what? i had jp for the black and white mage jobs; which i don't have any one in yet.
in response to the star wars game comment. every character has a status screen and it shows the character alignment on it behind them with the background. i went to the dark side and the background was red with a cloud of darkness briefly appearing around your character's feet when you load up their stats.

so, enemies don't level up in general while playing? i saw them getting levels and job levels while playing. might just be because of the mod.
the kotor games are more of dungeons and dragons with a star wars skin pack. the best art are the moral choices, character interactions and the lore that was made canon by george lucas himself [that's how good the writing is].
if you play like a hero or jedi, it's more of the standard hero story. you're nice to people, you help them with their problems and your party members comment on your actions.
play like a sith, and you basically become a saturday morning cartoon villain twirling the most perfect curly mustache that ever existed. people react shocked that you did something only for money, not for it being the right thing to do, a couple of planets have horrible consequences from your actions if you go down the dark side. one planet becomes a full on battle gauntlet with everyone there if you pick specific actions during its main quest. you are also alone for the entirety of that last bit for that world against about 50 people, nearly all of them with force powers.
i defiantly don't want to spoil it, but if you are up for it, i would recommend the full playthrough of the first game over on the two best friends play youtube channel. it's a very good game.

how far are you in the game? we could let you know how much further you have left before the final boss.
okay. good to know that. i saw that there was an option in the in battle menu for each character called "ai". does this game have an auto battle system of some sort?
yeah, the original and prequel trilogy are very good, flaws and all. i would recommend watching them first, the games expect you to have a little bit of knowledge of star wars going in. everything else you need to know will be given to you in game.

Yes auto battle personally I didn't try it I like to command the troops myself as I'm more confident in my decisions than AI from 98 japan.
Its risky but something I figured that you can do is send a spear head soldier who lures enemy into them then you strike the enemies with the rest of your units.
First I need to finish the terminator movies only 3 left before I watch something else.

oh, don't worry, my journey did not start off smoothly. i had 2 characters get ko'ed in the battle on the plains, ramza was still flat on his face when i got the last bandit killed. the random npc guy revived one of my other party members. i plan on finding that chocobo and getting 10, 15, 30 levels if possible. i heard about that one spot where the difficulty gets sky high with no warning. i'm going to be fully prepared for that.

Early on you kinda short on money your best bet is becoming a knight I think that worked for me pretty well.
Since we are using emulators you can always save during battle before using certain skills that have high chance of missing idk if you unlocked any battle skill yet but breaking a weapon is legitimately OP with emulator save.

yeah, i noticed that. i was thinking of jumping over to knight, but i did see a few people discussing character growth over on gamefaqs and special characters are apparently good no matter what class they are in. it also seems like you get jp for any job that your character has access to. i might spend some time working on unlocking a few classes and getting abilities to set up some decent builds.

Yes you are quite well rounded character starting with 60 brave and faith and you became more brave and faithful overall as ramza you can go mage builds or warrior builds it works both ways as you are a good frontline soldier and a decent caster.
Do remember to get the increased JP gain from thr squire job to later on get the +2 move ability high movement enables you to do a lot of maneuvers.

yeah, i saw that ability and i made a bee line for it. i think most of my characters have it at the moment.
what does the bravery and faith stats do? i would guess that it affects melee and magic commands based off of playing other games.

Basing off what it says in the help section bravery effects damage calculation the more brave the less damage taken basically brave people are good to be the meat shield role.
High faith is how good your magic is or other characters magic , accuracy of a spell and I think how effective it is basically magic stat from 7 and 8 similar to those , characters with high faith are grest casters.
I prefer a character having both high so they can be a generalist like the player with high bravery and faith ramza works for everything.

okay. i'll keep that in mind while prepping my characters. just got through the battle in the swamp. the game was insistent that ramza be ko'ed but i got him back up twice before the end. he was kneeling, but he is getting better.

I haven't tried it but if you die and turn into crystal/item I dont think you lose ramza is the only one unique in this im not sure if its actually that way.
