Final Fantasy Thread

Boco has to be the strongest character in Final Fantasy series he makes an appearance in Tactics and in 8 with his original gigachad appearance in 5 he also gets a wife too like dude has W choco rizz ::lol

You know a valid farming strategy I found in Tactics is go to mandalia plains not to touch grass but to encounter a hostile chocobo kill everyone else force the chocobo into a corner and attack him and farm XP he gets too low he heals itself and repeat the process again and again preferably if you want to rotate someone in favor of another you make sure the chocobo can't run

Realistically speaking its abuse at its finest imagine shoving somebody into the corner beat em up then when they stand up again hit them again rinse and repeat im quite a moral person in this situation ::smirk1

Thank god there is no animal rights activists in Final Fantasy tactics I would have been jailed or fined by now ::rolleyes

Question to everyone here:
What do you think about vehicles in Final Fantasy?
(Cars, Boats, Airships, etc.)
I enjoy the airships, but dislike pretty much every other form of transportation. Hell. As a whole, I only use chocobos when plot mandated or if they’re required for side quests.

i didn't know this. i got to that area and a story battle[?] started and it gave me a choice and i was like "aw, shit; here we go again". had to stop and check out a walkthrough to see if this choice would screw me over like that one in ogre battle 64: person of lordly caliber. fortunately, it doesn't.
i screenshotted your post and i'm putting it in my game guides folder for future reference.
i also read about the squire job having an exp glitch of some sort. do you know anything about that?

i did some checking; there is a jp glitch, but it seems to involve jp scrolls. there is a strange mechanic of some sort involving special classes have jp spillover. i found a short thread talking about it on gamefaqs.

Ahhh that's not exactly a bug I think its intentional the JP gain is universal for the character they gain JP for all jobs but most JP goes to the main one.

it was reading a bit like the class mechanic in disgaea 5. gaining xp in one class helps reduce how much all other characters need to max out that class. it takes forever to max one class, you need something like around 500,000 points to master one class; but other characters have an easier time doing so, letting you get more ablatives more quickly once the ball gets rolling.

Its something of that where a character can unlock other abilities other than their main specialty my dear Chamberlain unlocked time magic while being an archer.

oh yeah. i remember seeing something like that in tactics advance 2. i had luso mastering a few abilities for the white mage class and when i was swapping over to black mage, i tapped up by accident a couple of times and saw that a locked job now had a small bit of mastery added towards it.

i believe it is the first actual battle in the game. on the grass plains where you make your first choice in the game; to add an extra objective of saving this one guy in addition to fighting some random dudes and i think they had a wolf with them.. i got to work a bit on an art request before i dive back in.

KK interested to see how it goes with you.

i'll be playing it later. i got a guide to reference whenever those choice options pop up; don't want a repeat of orge battle 64; made 1 choice and apparently have of the unique characters were locked off. didn't find out until halfway through while checking on class requirements.

I always choose how I think about the situation I immediately saved anyone in trouble I felt I had to do it so I went immediately with that.

yeah, that's always a good idea, but if i remember correctly, the game portrayed the character in question as a possible bad guy, [i don't think he was, that was part of the narrative] but for whatever reason, i guess because of the quiz at the start, i was more or less roleplaying as garland from dissidia and was all for the thrill of battle and destroying any foe who stood before me. so the game was like:
"what do think we should do with the captured enemy captain?"
1. be reasonable and take him in to custody
or
2. Glory to the Great Will; destroy all those who oppose it!
i picked option 2.

Reminds me of French knights going after glory and ending up making a disaster cause of it :loldog

sounds a lot like when i played knights of the old republic 1. i went hardcore into the dark side. had the black dust cloud aura by the second planet on my characters status screen, i think.

The farming technique gets even better when you do a full 4 side surround.
i'll keep that in mind for later. i just finished that battle on the plains and i took a few minutes to check out the abilities page for each character. does every one gain jp for each job no matter what? i had jp for the black and white mage jobs; which i don't have any one in yet.

in response to the star wars game comment. every character has a status screen and it shows the character alignment on it behind them with the background. i went to the dark side and the background was red with a cloud of darkness briefly appearing around your character's feet when you load up their stats.

Yes but their gain is too slow , actually that's quite impressive never played or was a fan of star wars...

(Btw try to head for highest move value possible)
